Grandma's Christmas Candy

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
This is a must recipe for our family every year. This year I didn't do all of the baking I normally do, but I had to make this one at the request of all my children. If you follow the recipe properly it works great. And you have to keep it refrigerated. If it didn't work, you didn't do it right. We have been making it for several years. You can make it healthy by using natural peanut butter and sugar free chocolate (or low sugar chocolate) and it still tastes great.

Lower Fat Fudge Brownies

MMMM...lovely...and you can cut the sugar in half by using half molasses (and don't forget to add a teaspoon of baking soda for every cup of molasses you use). Use a half cup of molasses and a half teaspoon of baking soda for this recipe.

Mushroom Rice

Reviewed: May 31, 2004
Great recipe, husband and children enjoyed it, I used water instead of chicken broth, and my husband would have preferred chicken broth but otherwise it was a hit. My 5 year old daughter loved it.

Can't Get Enough Caramel Cookies!

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2003
I enjoy a sweet/salty taste, but found this much too salty—it overpowered the sweetness. I'll try it again, but I will be sure to use less salt next time. I also think the idea of vanilla is not to be missed—I'll try that next time. Tried it again with less salt and they are divine.

Ally's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2003
They were alright. A bit too doughy even though I cooked them longer the second dozen I made. Otherwise they were ok.

Convenient Vegetarian Lasagna

This is a GREAT vegetarian lasagne. Not too runny and a perfect taste. It was a hit with the entire family, even my picky children (aged 4 and 2).

Bran Flakes Muffins with Raisins

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2003
Not the absolute best muffin I've added, but very tasty and moist as well. My two year old son loved them. I never used the salt and they turned out fine. I also substituted the sugar with half cup of black-strap molasses. Since Raisin Bran doesn't have enough raisins when only using one cup, I recommend adding other chopped fruit.
