I make a brown sugar scrub (bath product) every year for Christmas gifts.  Scoop into a pretty mason jar or such and add a ribbon and it makes a nice small gift.  Anyone interested in how to make this.  Based on comments, I will blog how to if there is interest.  I am all about Christmas, the more home-made the better.  Wrapped gifts all day today, tomorrow I will tackle the tree and the trimmings. "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....."

I would love to know how you make your scrub. I have a few people I need small gifts for, but they have to be homemade. The scrub would be perfect.

i think i saw something on tv about making sugar scrub last weekend. They used regular or brown sugar, grape seed oil, essential oil and (unbelievably to me) food coloring. I could just picture my skin turning pink, blue or yellow in the bathtub ;) or scrubbing the food color ring off the tub... lol minus the food coloring, i love this idea!!!

I'm subscribing to you blog so I'll see it come through. Sounds like a great gift for certain difficult people on my list. :)

About Me
I am a retired registered nurse. I have two fabulous grandchildren ages 10 and 7, they live only 1 mile from me so we cook together often.
My favorite things to cook
I like one pot meals, slow cooker, rustic fare. Lately, I am cultivating recipes for soup and have turned out some really good results, especially using curry seasoning. I am not a baker.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make many of my mother's dishes. I like to entertain with just a wide array of appetizers sometimes, even though it is labor intensive.
My cooking triumphs
My Italian spaghetti sauce. My famous pot roast made in an oven bag. Appetizers.
My cooking tragedies
My latest debacle is making Pho, Vietnamese beef soup. Very labor intensive, many exotic ingredients, cook all day. I went to strain it through a cheesecloth lined colander and forgot to put anything under the colander. Down the drain it went; 7 hours worth of broth. Oh Well!
