About this Cook
I started cooking when i got tired of my mom's busy everyday cooking. My family of 7 became my critics. If there were no leftovers that meant i should do that again. I am married now and living in Philadelphia; sharing my recipe finds with those around me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Blini on a snowy Saturday morning is what my mother used to do to lure the big family in from their corners. I'm planning to continue this and her Christmas cookies.
My cooking triumphs
I got my husband and many others to like broccoli.
My cooking tragedies
I decided to cook Christmas dinner for the family. So i brined the turkey in a big bucket lined with a couple bags and put it outside to stay cool. I woke up the next morning to find that a neighborhood dog got loose, dumped the turkey and tried to eat it but I had a lot of onions all over it so the dog left it alone.

Japanese Chicken Wings
Wow this was really good. I do recommend to add some cayenne pepper to the sauce to give it some zing. This recipe tastes a lot like general tso. I'm planning to make it next time using chicken breast to serve with rice.

Cornish Game Hens with Garlic and Rosemary
It was really very good and the sauce was amazing, but I think Ill make it in the slow cooker next time. Its probably just me but it took forever to roast. I think the slow cooker cooks chicken more thoroughly.

Baked Salmon II
This was good. Even non-fish-lover husband agreed. I would like to try this on a ceder plank next time.
