Famous Taco Seasoning Mix

This got great reviews so I wanted to try it. It was okay but I missed having cumin in it. Cumin adds such a delicious flavor and this needs about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of it.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

We really enjoyed this casserole. I've made it before using only creamed corn and no sour cream. This is MUCH more moist and yummy. We loved it!!!

These pancakes were not all that tasty as far as my family was concerned. I had tried them for possibly making a gift jars of pancake mix. The pancakes were not fluffy and had little flavor. I added some baking soda and some vanilla...also an extra egg. Nothing seemed to help. I think this recipe would be better with a lot of additions like many others have done but that totally changes it. I rated this recipe "as is" and it just didn't work for me.

Classic Caramel Corn

I've been making caramel corn for years and I decided to try this recipe because I didn't want to search for the recipe I normally use. I'm so glad I did because this recipe is the best caramel corn recipe I have ever tried. The only thing I did differently is lower the oven temperature to 225 degrees and bake for an hour stirring every 15 minutes. I also use a 20" diameter stainless steel mixing bowl to bake the caramel corn and a silicone spatula to stir. It's a lot easier and I don't have to worry about caramel corn dropping out of the pans when I stir it. If I could give this recipe 10 stars, I'd do it.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Wonderful but I made some changes. I had leftovers from a store-bought roasted chicken so I cut that up for the chicken. I used 3 cups of chicken broth, two cans of low fat Cream of Chicken soup and one can of low fat Cream of Celery soup. I added a teaspoon of Herbs d' Provence to that. Added the chicken, 1 medium onion and frozen peas & carrots. I used a can of the large refrigerated biscuits and cut them into quarters. Cooked all of this for around 8 minutes. Absolutely delicious!!! We loved it.

Peach Pie

I like this version of the original but I also do an egg wash on the lattice top and put more of the topping for the inside of the pie on the top. Like the original recipe, I layer peaches and the sugar mixture until the pie is filled. Not sure why you would leave a pie in a hot oven to "set". I bake mine at 400 degrees for 15 minutes then turn the oven down to 350 degrees for 45 - 55 minutes depending on how big of a pie I'm making. Mine sets up as it cools.

Spicy Barbecued Peanuts

The first time I made these I did cut back on the liquid smoke. They were good. The second time I put the full amount of liquid smoke (hickory) and slightly more cayenne pepper. Big difference. They were great. We do like things a little more spicy though. What a hit these are!

Blueberry Pie

Easy Deviled Chicken

Very tasty! I used 3 chicken breast halves (large) and cut those in half. Also used a spicy mustard and added about 1 tbsp. of honey to dip. Put 1/2 box of stuffing mix in mini prep food processor to get a bit finer crumbs. Did not salt the chicken breasts as we feel the boxed stuffing mix is salty enough. I baked this 1 hour 15 minutes and it was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. Delicious!

Porcupine Meatballs III

Tasty recipe! I did add garlic powder (we love garlic) to the meat mixture along with some Watkins Meat Magic. The next time I make these I think I'll use 2 cans of tomato soup and one can of water. The sauce was great but there wasn't enough of it for our tastes.

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

It's really a shame that I found this recipe....It's too good and I'll be tempted to make them way too often. I only had Italian bread crumbs so that's what I used and they were wonderful. I don't have a deep fryer so I used a heavy pan and probably got them a little too brown. We like thicker rings so I kept several of the rings of onions in one "ring". Love these!!!!

Easy Peach Cobbler II

OH MY GOODNESS!!! This cobbler is awesome!! I did make some of the same changes others did...less sugar, 2/3 cup white sugar, 1/3 cup brown sugar. I also added 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla to the topping. Just wonderful!!!

Bacon Corn Chowder

With a few minor changes, this was a great recipe. I doubled the recipe because I wanted leftovers! It's delicious so why go to the trouble of cooking if you don't have enough of this for a second meal! I used chicken broth instead of water and 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of 1/2&1/2 instead of 2 cups of milk. I also added approx. 10 drops of Tabasco. Since I prefer thicker soups/chowders, I simmered this for about 45 minutes. I didn't like how thin it was by just heating it through and simmering it thickened it to perfection. It was wonderful!

Down Home Macaroni and Cheese

I added more Velveta and about 1/4 t of dry mustard. I think I'd also add some kind of hot sauce or more spicy seasoning the next time I make this. It was very good but could use a bit more flavor.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Excellent pizza crust recipe. I also sprinkle the crust with Italian seasoning but I also add a good sprinkle of California garlic powder before putting the toppings on. Since I use a stone to bake the pizza, I don't pre-bake the crust. I do cut the recipe in half which makes one thin crust 16" pizza. YUMMY!!

Ground Beef Curly Noodle

I could not find the Oriental variety of the Ramen noodles so I used 2 pkgs of the chicken flavor. I added a small onion because I thought this recipe could use the extra flavor. It didn't help. I'm not sure anything would help this. It was quite bland and tasteless. I won't make it again.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

What a great recipe!! These muffins are terrific! I followed the recipe exactly and did add more blueberries...the whole pint!! It worked out great. The only thing I would add is the 2 teaspoons of vanilla that I read about in other reviews. I used almost all of the topping because I HEAPED the topping on the muffins. They turned out picture perfect! Thanks so much for posting this wonderful!!!!

Creamed Chipped Beef On Toast

This is a great base recipe. My alterations: I use the canned beef but I use the 2.25 oz jar which seems to be fine. I also rinse the beef under running water. That takes the extremely salty taste away. Then I can add some Emeril's Bayou Blast seasoning or some hot sauce. When I add the beef I also add 1 cup of frozen peas. I serve this over chow mein noodles instead of toast. We LOVE it!!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Simple Mac and Cheese

Although I'm not a mac and cheese lover, I have to admit, this was good and a hit with the family. I did make some additions: Add 2 cloves garlic, 1/4 teaspoon of dry mustard, 10 drops of Tabasco and tripled the cheddar cheese. Topped with Italian bread crumbs. Great comfort food.
