About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
my favorite things to cook require minimum ingredients and lots of flavor. I am a firm believer in using non processed foods and if you can't read the ingredients they should not be eaten.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up my family made due with the ingredients that we had and vinegar was in high demand in our family (Which is a nice salt substitute). There was a meal that required any cut of beef, multicolor peppers, tomatoes, garlic, onion and red wine vinegar. This was my favorite recipe and can be made vegan style as well!
My cooking triumphs
making my very first thanksgiving...more than 3 years ago. The hat was handed over to me :)
My cooking tragedies
baking...'nough said.

Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookie
I love this recipe and cooked it at 300 for 20 minutes. Neiman or not loved it. I did cut out the 1/2 extra chocolate chips for some toasted hazelnuts and coconut. Loved them! Definitely a keeper!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
Great recipe! I had recently purchased vosges chocolate bars and wanted to put them into cookies...this was the recipe for those bars! Instead of 2 cups of chocolate chips, I used 1 cup shaved coconut with the Vosges Naga chocolate bar(makes one cup of chocolate bits). So easy, chewy and so delicious! I am on my second bar of Vosges Chocolate and going to make another batch! My colleagues at the Museum couldn't get enough...I'm making more for a work party! Thank you for making a novice baker look like an expert baker!
