This bread tastes good. My review is a good one - and quite detailed so please excuse the length! The only problems I had are just related to my machine size and user error really, plus I'm sure elevation has something to do with it too - I'm at 4500 ft. I hadn't used my machine for almost two years (was in storage, and was used then at 4200 ft) and this was one of the first recipes I made. I love the flavor, but it was too moist and sticky. I didn't have butter, so I used veg oil (was all I had right then). I ended up adding more flour, probably an additional 1/2 cup, for it to even rise because of the moisture. My flour is a little old, so I am wondering if that has anything to do with it.... but the same time, I made an old recipe of a honey whole wheat I had tht did wonderful. GRR. I have a 1 lb machine (for now). I'm going to try this recipe again with omitting the dry milk and water, replacing both with 2/3 cup milk - exchanging 1/2 cup of the WW flour with bread flour (my husband doesn't like 100% WW bread, this is both a compromise for him and an attempt to lighten up the bread). So... wish me luck, here I go!
