My Navy Bean Soup

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
This was pretty good. Like some of the previous reviewers I like a thicker soup, so I put less stock in. It was a little salty but not too bad. I will use low sodium stock next time. I used ham and bacon as I had both that needed to be used. The bacon was good thick center cut peppered bacon. It really made the soup wonderful. The pepper was excellent. My family really enjoyed this.

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
My family loved this. It was so tender. You have to make sure to use a quality balsamic vinegar. It's such a sweet taste you will be surprised at the difference of a cheap vinegar. The taste of the finished product was amazing. Highly recommend.

Wholesome Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
This turned out awful. I'm not sure what I did or didn't do, but it was bad. The one loaf burnt in under 15 minutes, and the other wouldn't get done. The loaves were the same size and my oven has never cooked anything like that before. I will be finding a different recipe.

The Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
I love this bread. It is so tasty and easy to make. I had never made banana bread before this. It turned out great. I followed another reviewer and cut the flour to 1 1/2 cups, changed the sugar to 1/2 cup brown and 1/2 cup white, also threw in a 1/2 tsp of vanilla and a dash of cinnamon. I couldn't taste any of those specific flavors in the bread but I think it helped round out the flavor. Also 45 minutes is all you need and around 35 my bread starts to get too brown on top so I pop it out and put tinfoil on it. Overall a great and tasty recipe. We make it almost every week with our left over bananas.

Turkey Macaroni Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
My family loved this. I made it after Christmas with our left over turkey. Now I use leftover chicken or I get some turkey legs and pop them in the slowcooker on low for about four hours. That way we can have it all year long. And I precook the noodles. Cuts down on cooking time and my noodles started to dry out quite a bit. I also add milk to our liking as we like a creamier mac and cheese. Really good.

Crusty French Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
I love this recipe. This is the first loaf of bread I ever made. It turned out great. The only tip would be to watch it when you bake it. My baking time was quite a bit less than the recipe called for. But now I know. We make this with spaghetti and it is awesome.

Chicken Piccata II

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
My family really enjoyed this. I had issues getting the sauce to be thick enough and didn't have any cornstarch on hand. Other than that though we liked it and I followed the recipe to a t.

Forgotten Party Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
I made these last night at ten and took them out of the oven this morning when I woke up. I have to admit I wasn't expecting much as this was the first time I ever made anything like this. But I was pleasantly surprised. They turned out wonderful. I followed the recipe exactly except I used coconut extract and it was so good. I highly recommend this recipe for someone who wants a sweet treat but not all the calories.
