Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2013
Great easy recipe. My 9 year old son made it. We used bisquick instead of flour. Outstanding! We reduced the milk by 1/4 cup and cooked it about 5 minutes longer.

Winter Energy Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
I've made these 3-4 times now and they are excellent! I substitute 1/2 the butter for applesauce. I leave out 1/2 cup of brown sugar and I also skip the walnuts and raisins - personal preference. I put in just a handful of chocolate chips. I don't flatten them and I cook them on the light side. Sooooo yummy!!

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
This was sooooooo good. I found prewashed quinoa at walmart. My 6 year old LOVED it and even chose it over mac & cheese the other day. We ate it warm.

Excellent. I reduced the brown sugar to 1/2 cup. Exchanged raisens for a few chocolate chips, and I did 1/2 cup whole wheat flower and 1/2 cup of regular flower. Sooooo yummy and healthy.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
OUTSTANDING! I followed others' suggestions: peeled and then boiled the postatoes and it worked great, reduced white sugar by 1/3 or so, used milk instead of cream... it was really really good!

EXCELLENT. I followed the tip about making sure the beans, GP, and onions are well drained. They turned out perfect!

I've never made bread or rolls before. These turned out great. I was very careful to get the water and milk temp correct.

Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Did not like this. I'll probably try it again without the onion soup mix - it seemed to overwhelm it.

Cheesy Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
Very good. Big hit with my husband and two 5 year olds. I used shredded canned chicken (2 cans) - much easier. I also brush the crust with a beaten egg and cook 5 minutes before adding filling. It helps keep it from getting soggy. I also cooked at 375 for 30 minutes. Perfect!!

I followed as is except for using cream of mushroom soup. Very good. My picky 4 years olds gobbled it up.

Pretty good recipe. I think home made dressing would have been better.

Cheese Fondue

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
The women loved this fondue and the guys thought it was pretty good. I used the lemon juice suggestion to keep the cheese from clumping and it turned out great. I didn't use the full amount of guyere cheese to ease the pungent flavor and it was perfect. I melted it in a saucepan first and then transferred it to the fondue pot. We used bread to dip and yummy!

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
Very good. Thanks to other suggestions I made the following slight adjustments. I used cream of mushroom instead of cream of chicken. I sauted the onion in butter first and did not add any additional butter, instead I used a little extra sour cream. I didn't put any topping on it. It was a hit at a family dinner.

Beef Barley Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
I prepared with given ingridents. I used more bouillon and salt & (regular) pepper. It was excellent. Ground beef was very good with it. I also used quick barley and waited to add it until there was about 1.5 hours left. I cooked it on high for about 3 hours. Very very good.

Chicken Tortilla Casserole

It tasted pretty good, but it was watery and it didn't look good visually. I'll keep the recipe and probably try it again and make some adjustments.

Red Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
I'm not sure why but I just didn't like the flavor of these potatoes. The garlic was just overwhelming and took away from everything else on the plate. Normally I LOVE garlic! I took them for Thanksgiving and they were not a hit. I ended up throwing the leftovers out. Sorry for the poor review.
