When I was a very young child I used to love to make my own creations in the kitchen that sometimes were good, sometimes awful. This was noticed by my Mom and she bought my me very first cookbook and let me get more "positive" results with tried and true recipes. This was not enough for me I had to continue creating in the kitchen and to this day that is my passion. Open the cupboard and never dispare as there is always something wonderful there if you allow your creative juices to flow. Life is never about what you don't have but rather what you are going to do with what you do have and so is your kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
I simply love to cook, it really doesn't matter what it is so long as I am cooking and putting a smile on the faces of all I get to put food before I am very happy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Oh how I love Thanksgiving and Christmas cooking. I absolutely love the feeling that you get when you walk into a home that has all the warm scents of food being lovingly cooked during these times.
My cooking triumphs
One Thanksgiving my oven was broken and I simply was not going to let that spoil my families holiday. I decided I would fire up my grill and had a wonderfully smoked turkey, ham and vegetables and never skipped a beat. Though my kids did tease me they had to agree the food was awesome and allowed me more time out of the kitchen and more time to play holiday games with them.
My cooking tragedies
I don't believe in tragedies as I feel if you learn anything from something that perhaps didn't go the way you wanted then it is not a tragedy. Besides, who doesn't enjoy having to grab a pizza when the kitchen is smoky. LOL!!
