Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
Make these! Make a double batch--that way you can use a whole bag of chocolate chips, and almost a whole can of sweetened condensed milk. I promise that you can never, ever, have too many of these cookies!! I've been making these for about 20 years now. Got the recipe from my mother in-law. These are my favorite cookies! I only make them at Christmas time. Otherwise I'd weigh about 500 lbs. These cookies keep very well, and freeze even better. In fact, I prefer them after they've been out of the freezer for about 5 minutes. :)

Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
These ROCK! I made them with my son for a special treat tonight. I'm not usually a big pancake fan, but these were light and fluffy and wonderful! The syrup was the perfect touch. Not too sweet. Just right. Next time we make these, we'll be sure my husband and daughter can enjoy them as well. YUMMY!!!

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2006
Holy YUM, Batman! This was awesome! I used pre-minced garlic from a jar and Kraft grated parm. from the shaker can and it was still FANTASTIC! My kids are really picky eaters and even they begged for more! Thanks for the great recipe!

Jo-Ann's Power Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2006
These are good! The kids watched me make them last night and were quite intrigued. I made them with Craisins and whole almonds, then dropped in a few chocolate chips and a few M&M's just for color. You should have seen the kids inhale these things this morning! They REALLY thought they were getting by with something having such a "treat" in the morning! They have proclaimed them "THE BEST BREAKFAST EVER!!" and decided I should be a famous chef. :) Thanks for the recipe!

Chewiest Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2005
These ROCK! The only thing I did differently was to use 4 1 oz. squares of melted unsweetened chocolate instead of cocoa. {Personal taste preference} They were done in exactly 30 minutes at 300 degrees, just as the recipe states. They do get just a bit of a thin crust on the top, but it's yummy and a nice contrast to the soft and chewy inside. The only way I can imagine these would be called "Grainy" is that the crust part is not quite as smooth as the inside, which is heavenly. I left them all in the pan since I wasn't going to serve them all at once. I covered the pan with Saran Wrap when the brownies weren't quite totally cooled. I keep them in the microwave so my kids can't reach them at will. I don't know if any of this has helped to keep them from having the "drying out fast" problems some reviewers have noticed, but I've got half a pan left and they're still perfect 3 days after I made them. Thanks for the great recipe, Kristin!

Very Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2004
Holy cow, these are good! Don't change a thing, just pay attention and you won't overcook or undercook them. Easy and tasty! You can also drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto a cookie sheet and freeze them. Then bag them up and you can have more hot fresh cookies when you want them. Bake at 300 degrees for 15-20 minutes, check often. Yum! Thanks Tiffany!

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2003
Yummy! I basically made it for my husband, the tomato soup fiend. I don't even LIKE tomato soup, but this was very tasty! I would definitely make it again either for adult company, or to freeze in smaller portions for lunches for myself. The 2 year old wouldn't touch it, but she's not much on trying new things. The 5 year old ate it and said it was "okay, but I like the stuff in the can better." Thanks for the recipe, Charlotte!

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2003
Holy Cow! This is the best chocolate cake recipe in the universe! {Believe me, trying new chocolate stuff is my hobby!} I've gotta go with the folks who used Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, and topped it off with chocolate ganache. After all, you really can't ever have too much chocolate! :) I have recommended this recipe to all of my fellow chocaholics. Definitely a keeper!

Turkey Patties

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2003
Pretty tasty! It came out a little dry for me. I may try 2 eggs next time to see if that helps. My husband said it wasn't too dry for him at all. Also, he actually thanked me for making this. He appreciated my trying to "broaden his horizons" a little. My 4 year old ate it right up. The 20 month old wouldn't touch it, but she's in a picky phase lately. I didn't have any fresh ginger on hand, so I just used a little dry ground ginger instead. Tasted fine. Will make this again! Thanks for the recipe, Michele!
