About this Cook
I'm kinda rookie at cooking, and didn't actually get into it all that much until about three years ago. But, since then, I've gotten into the groove of things and have grown rather fond of trying out new recipes. Of course my critics 'aka' my husband, two boys, and daughter, are very quick to tell me whether the recipe is a keeper or not.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking soups, and stirfries. Recently, I've taken up an interest in desserts as well.
My cooking triumphs
Besides a fantastic Cranberry Brisket that turned out superb, my other triumph that I am SO proud of, because it's definately a first (all my others ending in disasters...quite literally -_-') I made a cherry pie that turned out remarkably well! I even made a lattice crust!! So very happy, and so was my cherry loving husband! ;)
My cooking tragedies
Pretty much anything dealing with desserts...I can bake a mean casserole but ask me to make a cake, pie or cookies and and you'll usually get charbroil...(one time I actually caught the kitchen oven on fire..-_-')

Tangy Grilled Pork Tenderloin
This wasn't too bad. My husband thought it was delicious, my kids gobbled it right down and I thought it was okay. I didn't add the entire 2/3 of honey so it wouldn't be so sweet and I substituted with spicy brown mustard instead of Dijon. I didn't grill it either but baked it at 350 for an hour. Turned out tender and moist.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies
These were delicious! I had the hankering for something sweet but 'healthy' so I set to work finding a good oatmeal cookie recipe. This was easy and packed full of flavor. I cut the recipe down to a dozen which lasted all of two hours in my house before my husband my kids and I had gobbled down the entire batch. Then of course is the question, 'So mom, are you going to make any more?' haha ;) Awesome cookies! Thanks for the recipe.

Chicken Tortilla Soup V
This was very good!! I did made a few modifications. I didn't have corn so I omitted and subbed a can of diced tomatoes for one of the cans of chicken broths and added an 8oz can of green chilies. In addition to the chicken, I also added a left over pork chop that needed to be used up and I thought that it gave the soup an extra flavor. Lastly I subbed lime juice for the lemon and added an extra two teaspoons. It turned out absolutely delicious and I'll definately be adding this to my five star recipe box.
