Hash Brown Sliders

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2015
This was a great appetizer I brought to a party. I did this as open faced so we could have more. I added a bit more cheese to the hash browns and cooked them longer so they were a bit crispier. I added a bit of lime juice to the avocados so they did not brown throughout the evening. Was very well liked by all.

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: May 10, 2015
Tried this for the first time for a Mother's Day brunch. I followed everyone's suggestion to reduce to 10 eggs, double the sauce as well as use Italian bread. This came out fantastic. We did add in a side dish of homemade lemon curd which went very well. Everyone was so thrilled with the dish that I shared the recipe with all. Will make again and try other fruits.

Chicken With Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2015
Tasted great! I made this for the first time for my family and was a big hit. I made this with a bit more cheese as my family loves cheese. Next time saute the mushrooms first and add a bit more garlic to the bread crumbs. Will certainly make this again.

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2014
I took the advice of the first reviewer using brown, white and powdered sugar. These were wonderful and loved by all! You will need to cook these a bit longer than the 10 minutes, for me it was more like 14. These were part of a cookie exchange and it was a huge hit.

Sweet Potato Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
This was a great recipe! I added in black eyed peas for additional bulk and less on the turkey/beef. I just added everything in and set on low for 8 hours - came out perfect. Will make this again.

Bada Bing Bada Banged Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2012
I made this for a dinner with friends who had 4 kids. They loved this so much! I did smash them more than most, but the kids liked that. I did not include the rosemary as that can be overpowering. We used shredded parmasean instead of grated so it became a bit crispy which was wonderful. Will make this again.

Saucy Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
This was a very easy cordon blue. We did not have curry, but did not notice it missing at all. Loved this recipe and will make again.

Better Than Sex Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2012
I used dark chocolate cake instead of devil's food. Was a huge hit!

Pumpkin Lobster Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
I used imitation lobster meat and fat free evaporated milk to keep the calorie count down on the recipe. We liked this, but there isn't enough "cheese sauce" that we like. Next time I would double the amount of sauce and decrease the baking time. Overall everyone liked it.

Sweet BBQ Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
Outstanding! I used 2 large cans of chicken, sharp cheddar cheese and chives since that is what I had in my pantry. This was a huge hit and was devoured very quickly. I will save this recipe as my go to recipe when having to bring a dip. Glad I found a recipe that uses cranberry sauce!

Tex Mex Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
While the recipe did take some time, everyone loved this. I used a bit more garlic and more of the dressing, otherwise this was great. I ended up sprinkling more of the cilantro on top as part of the presentation.

Sausage Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
This was a huge hit at the party. I used the won ton wrappers and they came out great. I did cook them longer than the 5 minutes - more like 10 so they were brown and formed into a shell. I also used the light ranch dressing which reduced the calories, which is a plus! Everyone really enjoyed this recipe and would use again.

Divine Hard-Boiled Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
I would have given this a 5 star except mine came out as soft boiled eggs. I could not use them for deviled eggs. Next time, will either allow eggs to room temp or boil 2-3 minutes. I live in NY so no high altitude issues.

This is outstanding! I took the advice and removed brown sugar. I also reduce the oil to 3/4 cup and worked well.

Creamy Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Loved this! I did use some suggestions and added a few of mine. I defrosted the shredded hash browns and I used 2 cups of soups instead of one. I sprinkled panko crumbs on top of the shredded cheese and baked at 400 for 10 minutes to brown crumbs then 350 for another 30 minutes. It came out fantastic.

Brussels Sprouts in a Sherry Bacon Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Made this for dinner party and kids loved it! I did make a few substitutions, used baby bella instead of cremini mushrooms. I was not sure how the parents would feel about sherry with the kids I used 1/8 cup apple cider vinegar and 2 TBSP vanilla. This was a huge hit!

Tortellini Carbonara

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
We did like this recipe, very easy. I did change this up a bit based on other comments. I used 1/2 of the half and half due to others commenting on this runny. I added in more as it thickened up. I also used pancetta instead of ham due to our preference.

Port Wine Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
Disappointed in this recipe. I make a chocolate rasp port and thought this would be a great recipe. I used good chocolate but it did not help. It was dry and fell apart as it cooled. I still served it but everyone said there were much better desserts. I would not waste time making this.

Blue Cheese Beef Tenderloin

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
This was outstanding! I made this for a dinner party and it was a huge hit. I did as others suggested and put this in a shallow baking dish with the sauce. I used roasted garlic teriyaki sauce which worked well. The sauce was very good but we love blue cheese so we added more to it. Will definitely make this again.
