Chef John's Buttermilk Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2013
These are truly excellent biscuits! I grate my frozen butter with a small hand grater & rub it in by hand, but other than that I did everything as specified and they came out wonderfully. Thanks so much!

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2013
I made this cake Sunday for a church supper and it was gone before any of the actual supper items were! I really loved doing it in my skillet, too. I felt just like a pioneer woman :) I used yellow cake instead of white and used the pineapple juice in place of water in the batter. I followed a previous reviewer's tip and filled in the gaps between the rings with crushed pineapple. It was so easy, looked so beautiful and came out better than I'd hoped, everything I hope for when trying a new recipe. Thank you!!

BLT Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
I made this for a party a couple of weeks ago and people stood around that bowl like camels around an oasis!!! I forgot to seed the tomato before I added it which made it a little soupy but it was still amazing. Bravo and thanks so much for sharing this :D

Kelsey's Cheesy Bacon Breasts

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2013
My family really enjoyed this recipe. I followed the tips of previous posters and did not pre-cook the chicken, only slightly cooked the bacon, mixed the bbq sauce & mustard, added the bacon with 15 minutes left and added the cheese with 5 minutes left. It came out very tender and tasty. We'll definitely be having these again. Thanks for a great recipe and some very helpful reviews!

Vicki's Hush Puppies

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2013
My 'batter' came out so dry that I kept running back to the computer to make sure I hadn't done something horribly wrong. It was like a big bowl of breadcrumbs! Maybe y'all's eggs are bigger than mine? I ended up adding a bit of milk & that sorted it out. Once the batter crisis was over, though, they were truly wonderful. My family loved them and gobbled them all up, even my picky two-year old. Next time, I'll try grating the onion as other reviewers have mentioned and see if the onion juice helps combat the dryness I ran into today.
