Winter Blossom's Often Requested Ham Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2012
I used yellow mustard b/c I don't like brown. I also used 1/2 fresh minced onion and 1/2 dried b/c I ran out of dried. I used honey baked ham leftovers and dill relish. I also used vegan mayo b/c my baby has allergies. It was AWESOME!!! I loved it! Thank you so much!

Vikki's Red Bean Sausage

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
This is by far the best red beans and rice I've ever made! I put just a dash of cayenne instead of a tsp. and I added a little cajun seasoning. I also threw in a chunk of honey baked ham. I used rotel tomatoes in place of fresh green peppers. I also added a bay leaf and cooked it all in a crock pot. I served it over rice and it was sooooo good! Thank you!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
Made it exactly as the recipe called for (except I left out the redpepper b/c I have small kids) and it was awesome. I put the seasoning on one pound of ground turkey with some water and they were the best tacos I've ever made.

Traditional Style Vegan Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
I liked this recipe. The only thing I changed was I used real beef. I think next time I would sub earth balance margaine for the olive oil because the olive oil flavor was overpowering. It was a good solid meal though. Thanks for the recipe.

Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
I made this recipe in the crockpot and cooked it for 5 hours on high. I followed the recipe exactly except I added a half a beer. The meat was very tender and flavorful. Everyone like it....even my mexican mother in law! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it was pretty greesy. Super good though! Thanks for the recipe.

Ham and Bean Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2011
I love this soup. It's super flavorful and filling! It's even better for leftovers the next day! I altered the recipe a bit to work with what I had in my kitchen. I used jimmy dean sausage and browned it in a skillet, used 8 oz. of chopped ham instead of ham hocks, 1 can of a bean mix of black, pinto, and red kidney beans, and one can of white kidney beans, 1 8 oz. can of tomato sauce instead of 15 oz., one can of chopped tomatoes, and one can of rotel, and one tsp. of garlic powder instead of chopped garlic. I threw it all in the crock pot, added 2 cups of chicken broth, and cooked it on low for 8-9 hours. I served it with the vegan agave cornbread muffins (I used maple syrup instead of agave though) from this website and it was delicious! Thanks for the recipe. It's a keeper!

Yellow Split Pea and Frankfurter Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
Thanks for the recipe. I loved the soup. I had about one cup of lentils, so I used that and only used 4 cups of chicken broth. I used the same amount of veggies that the recipe called for and I pureed them. I didn't have mace, so I used a pinch of nutmeg instead. I also threw in a bay leaf, some tony chachere's seasoning, salt, pepper, and garlic. I used boars head franfurters and put it all in a crock pot. My husband thought it was ok (but he's tough to please) and my daughter fished out the frankfurters and ate them. I ate 2 bowls and have been eating leftovers for lunch. I think it's super good!

Butternut Squash Bisque

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2011
Great recipe.Thank you. I roasted the squash, carrots, and onions with minced garlic and a tablespoon of olive oil and just a touch of brown sugar for 45 minutes at 375 degrees. Then I threw it in the crock pot with the remaining ingredients. I substituted 4 cups of chicken broth instead of vegetable broth and 1 tablespoon of earth balance margarine instaed of butter and it turned out great. My huband and I both liked it and one of my three kids liked it too. 1 out of three ain't bad with my picky kids!

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2011
Thank you for your recipe. It was tasty! I threw all the ingredients in a crock pot with a few substitutions and additions. I didn't have stewed chopped tomatoes, so I threw in a can of rotel. I also had one pound of cooked chopped chicken, so I put in one pound instead of two pounds of chicken and added potatoes and carrots to the mix. I also added more salt and threw some broccoli in for the last 30 minutes and it turned out great!
