I am a widowed mom and a grandma to Siy. I live on the North Coast of the golden state. I like to see the nature and beauty that surrounds me. Living in a rural small town suits me. I lived in Orange Co, Ca most of my life, and am enjoying the quiet life. The hustle and bustle of city life is just to much for me these days... I enjoy trying new recipes, esp anything in the Mexican, Italian, Asian, and American (such as a new twist on hamburgers, or meatloaf etc). I had almost went into a Diabetic coma, so since then I am learning to adjust my cooking to low carb, and sugar free. Always a fav, was Mom getting up at the crack of dawn to put the turkey in for thanksgiving. At Christmas time we always had a polish dish called gawumpki, AKA: cabbage rolls. On New Years Day we would have our Ham dinner, which featured a non traditional meal. Sandwhiches, Homemade boston baked beans and homemade rice pudding....YUM!! My cooking has gotten so much better in recent years. The economy had a negative effect on the way I used to prepare meals, and I always used to purchase store-bought desserts, chips etc. I didn't realize how much better homemade is until now. I would rather make my own, than buy prefab stuff at the market, because everything just tastes sooo much better! :) I suppose my biggest flop has been when I alter a recipe too much, then it doesn't turn out to well. So I try to stick close to my recipes now.
