French Baguettes

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2012
I made this today after my husband told me a coworker gave him some of his spicy vegetable olive oil - this is something we wait for every year. I used the dough setting and since that goes through the first rise, I shaped the bread right away rather than let it rise in a greased bowl like the recipe said. I didn't do anything to the tops of the loaves except spritz them with a little water. They turned out absolutely delicious! Can't wait to make this again!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
I make these completely dairy-free because I'm allergic to milk and they are wonderful! I use plain almond milk and Earth Balance buttery sticks and coconut oil to grease the griddle. Super easy and delicious! Made them this morning with some bananas tossed onto the batter after it was poured and that was awesome!

Whole Wheat Honey Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
This is delicious bread! I used light whole wheat flour and no dry milk powder (because I'm allergic to dairy and forgot to sub in some of my almond milk for the water) but everything else as directed. I used the light crust and basic whole wheat settings and it rose super high and was delicious. This is the first time I've used light crust and actually had it turn out lighter and thinner, especially on the sides. I really love this bread and know I'll be making this often!

Reheating Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2011
I'm doing this for the spaghetti dinner I'm hosting this evening for our high school girls soccer team. There will be anywhere from 20-38 girls and there's no way I could keep the spaghetti cooking fresh quickly enough for them. They like to come in, eat, and get out again, usually all are gone within the hour. This application is perfect for this situation!! Every day meals, no not really, but it's ideal for this.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
I made these exactly as directed so since I'm allergic to dairy, I cannot eat them. However, my husband cut into the corner to test them and his only comment was "yeah, these are gonna go pretty quick." To anyone who commented that these were flat, beat your eggs THOROUGHLY after each addition. I use a Kitchenaid mixer and beat each egg on speed 4-5 until completely beaten. The eggs are the leavener in this recipe so you have to beat them in order to get the brownies to rise properly. Try this and it will be better.

Quick and Easy Peanut Butter Oatmeal

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2011
I really loved this. I'm a huge fan of protein in the morning and thought this was fantastic. I nuked mine for 5 minutes and it got a little too done for my taste so I'll try 4 minutes next time. This was really good and filling in a way that doesn't bog you down at all. Excellent!

Easy Polenta with Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
Delicious! I didn't actually follow this recipe, but used it as a template for my own. I'm allergic to dairy so I made a simple polenta with water, salt, and cornmeal in my crockpot. Then I poured it into a baking dish and topped it with some homemade meat sauce that was leftover from a lasagna. I baked it until bubbly and it was dee-licious! I served this alongside pan-seared chicken breasts and broccoli.

Roasted Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
This was delicious! My daughter made this as part of her Life Skills (home ec) class assignment to cook the family dinner. We used all three bulbs of garlic, roasted, and Earth Balance Buttery Stick margarine because I am allergic to dairy. Slathered it all on split Italian bread and it was delicious!

Complete Pancake Mix

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2010
This was fantastic! I followed suit with the other reviewers and added some sugar in a ratio that I figured was about what I normally add when I make pancakes from scratch (2 Tbsp. per batch). I am allergic to dairy so I used Darifree powdered non-dairy milk and it worked perfectly. We brought 3 batches (bagged separately) on our trip to Disneyworld last week and it was so easy to whip up a good hot breakfast in our kitchen at the hotel. This is going to be a great timesaver on school mornings as well since my kids like fresh pancakes better than frozen and reheated. Thank you for sharing the recipe!

Swedish Kringles

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I just found this (thankfully!) when I couldn't locate my printout of the recipe that I typed up years ago. My grandma always made these, then my mom, and now me and they are my all-time favorite Christmas cookie. They take a little elbow grease, but they're worth it!

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
This was fantastic! I made it to go along with the Rosemary-Mushroom Chicken Soup from the latest Pillsbury cookbook, Budget Meals (I think). I love what olive oil does to a bread and it was divine when dipped into the soup (and on it's own). Excellent
