Nutella® Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2004
This is everything the other reviewers promised: easy, quick, rich, quite good. It was not really like a cheesecake to me either; needs a different name so it is not misleading. My children do not especially like cheesecake, so I told them it was a chocolate hazlenut pie---they loved it (go figure).

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2004
I had mixed reviews from my family. Overall, I think it passed the test as a keeper. I did use chili with beans and added a can of Rotel tomatoes. Served in warm tortillas, with cheese, lettuce, sour cream, etc. I am going to add kidney beans to the leftovers and pass off as chili tonight! ;)

Brownie Biscotti

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2004
Good! I made some changes, but the recipe is a good basic starting point. I think it is possible to play with this recipe to your liking. Watch the time and temp. I did slice once warm enough to handle---no crumbles. Will make again.

Quick Cassoulet

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2004
Not great, and not very appetizing in appearance. Although it was easy, it filled the void, and one is likely to have these ingredients in their pantry; I think I would try to find another recipe to fill this criteria.

Gail's Seven Layer Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2004
I will make this again. I used fresh salsa instead of a tomato and I used frozen (thawed) guacamole instead of a fresh avocado. Also just a chopped onion. Left out the red cabbage as well. I needed something fast and had to use what was on hand. The lettuce as a little soggy (Duh!); but it was still delicious. Will stay closer to the actual recipe next time! Thanks for a good one, Gail.

Oh yes, this is a good one! Thanks to other reviews I doubled the sauce. This recipe motivated me to put together a really nice dinner.

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2004
Really good! I used buttermilk instead of water because I had some on hand. Also, I added walnuts. These ideas were from other reviewers. This recipe is good as is, but variations with rasins, nuts, and/or frosting will also work well.

Apple Filled Chicken in Pecan Creme Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2004
My husband and I liked this recipe. My children were iffy. I made the chicken recipe for four and the sauce recipe for two. I found that I only needed one apple and less than 1/4 cup milk. My sauce never really thickened, but it tasted fine. (I guess I expected it to have the consistancy of hollandaise.) Overall, I enjoyed this dinner and found the recipe easy and quick. I will make again.

Momma OB's Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2004
This was good and it was simple to put together. I made it in my slow cooker. This chili freezes well---we had two meals from this recipe. Will make again.

Crab Quiche I

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2004
This was wonderful. I think it would be good with or without the crust. I made it with the crust in a removable bottom quiche pan; it was pretty as well as easy. My family loved it and I will definately make this recipe again.

Mimi's Slumgullion

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2003
This is a great recipe! I used turkey sausage and one green pepper as recommended by other reviewers. I started the ingredients in a large skillet early in the day, then I transferred everything to the slow cooker and set the temp. at low. It was the perfect dinner for cold night. I might double this next time---I can't believe we ate the whole thing!

Mexican Baked Fish

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2003
This dish is very simple to put together, it's fast, and it's delicious. I used tilapia and I also salted the avacado as suggested by other reviewers. My son suggested adding onions the next time---I agree, and plan to try it again soon with a bit of chopped onion. I needed to cook this 10 minutes longer than the recipe stated.

Finnish Turnips

Personally, I enjoyed this dish. My family was iffy. I will make this again---without changes, the consistancy was fine. They'll learn to love turnips, I already do!

This was really good. The recipe pared down to feed 6 would still feed the masses. Great recipe for a crowd. Will make again.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2003
This recipe worked well for my busy lifestyle and for my family (who can sometimes be pickey). I halfed the recipe and I believe I might have cooked it a bit too long. My husband thought it was a little dry. At any rate, everyone ate heartly and seemed to enjoy the beef. The raves came from the gravy---I used red wine instead of water. I served this with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. Will make again!
