Spiced Pecan Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
This was fantastic with pecan pie! Buttery and crumbly and delicious, it was like eating pecan shortbread cookies. I doubled the cinnamon for a bit more zazz :)

Indian Naan II

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
This Naan was fantastic!! Soft and fluffy, with a great texture, and went perfect with the Easy Indian Butter Chicken recipe off this site. I didn't have access to a grill or oven, so I fried each piece of Naan one at a time in a frying pan and they bubbled up perfectly. I rolled out each piece to about a quarter of an inch thick, perhaps those who found the bread to be too tough rolled it out too thinly. This is my favorite naan recipe, and I have tried making it with various substitutions (milk instead of yogurt, olive oil for ghee, garlic and garam masala instead of onion seed, no seasonings, etc.) and it always comes out delicious. I find I have the best results when I use one cup of bread flour with one cup of all purpose flour, the added gluten gives the Naan a really nice texture perfect for sponging up curries and sauces.

Mom's Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
Quite delicious but needed a few changes. I also made my pumpkin puree from scratch (baked and pureed pumpkin the day before and drained it overnight in the fridge). I also reduced the milk to 1 cup, and even with adding about 1.5x the spices listed, it still seemed like it needed a little more. Next time I'll definitely at least double the spices, but this recipe makes a very good base to start with to temper to your own tastes. Highly recommended with the butter crust off of this site!

Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
Very delicious! My room-mates and I gobbled it all up! Like another reviewer, I did not bother with the second blending after simmering the first 30 minutes.. the soup still came out silky and delicious. The cream added a wonderful texture and milkiness to the overall product that really sealed the deal I believe. Also I substituted regular course ground pepper for peppercorns.
