I am a small town girl and am a school librarian in my home town, in the middle school I attended. I've been married 25 years and have 3 amazing children. My cooking style has changed somewhat as my kids have gotten older; since I only have one son at home, it's hard to get motivated to make a home-cooked meal every night and I've had trouble scaling down my dishes. We still eat at home most nights, but if he is going on a date I will take that opportunity to take the night off in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
I especially like to make beef and pork roasts that have enough left overs for me to use in another recipe or two.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Although my typical meals have been called "The Reed Meat and Cheese Fests", I don't know that we have particular cooking traditions. 'Home food' at the kitchen table is what my family has grown to expect.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph was having my own cookbook published in 2004.
My cooking tragedies
Learning to cook Gluten Free and adapting my existing recipes to be GF---what a challenge! I have made too many loaves of weird bread and lots of pots of mushy noodles while experimenting with different GF pasta brands.
