The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2014
Made this exactly as written. Everyone loved it! DH's coworkers have asked for the recipe. It definitely was very spicy but very flavorful as well. Might tone down the heat the next time :)

Easy Chocolate Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2006
I must have done something wrong while making this cake. It did not turn out well at all. The fudge part all went to the bottom & stuck to the bottom of the pan. I was able to cut off the top, cake-y, part and serve in small squares. It did, at least, have a really great flavor, just very messy and falling apart. Thanks.

Beans and Greens

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2006
This was really, really good!! In the quest for healthier eating, we are trying to eat more beans, green veggies, etc. This recipe turned up on a search and I was a little skeptical about this combo. However, because of the high nutrition factor & the good reviews, I tried it anyway. Wow - was I ever surprised. It is totally tasy!! Definitely will make it again. Thanks.

Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
This turned out fairly well, just wish the cake part was not so crumbly. The only thing I changed was that I used 4 tbls white sugar instead of just 2, which gave it just the right sweetness for my taste. Anyhow, everyone at the party loved it. It is definitely worth making again. However, I will experiment with ways to make it not so crumbly. Thanks!

Alan's Ultimate Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2005
These muffins had a great texture and were very moist. The flavor was good but since I don't care much for raisins and omitted this ingredient, they were in need of a little something. I think this recipe makes a really good basic bran muffin to which other items could be added for flavor (bananas, apples, nuts, etc.). Thanks!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2003
We liked this one a lot! The only thing I will do differently next time is to leave out the white wine as it seemed to add a flavor to the sauce we didn't care for. Other than that, it was delicious. Thanks!

Concord Grape Pie II

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2003
Excellent pie! One of the few pies that I, non-successful-pie-maker that I am, have ever turned out. The only thing I changed was that I discarded the grape skins after removing the pulp. The grape flavor was superb, hard to believe that it was so 'grape-y' just from the grapes, almost as if someone infused concentrated grape extract into it. I guess that's the difference between Concordes and other grapes, that distinct flavor. I suspect that this recipe would work well with other kinds of fruit, especially peaches. Thanks!

Cowboy Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2003
This reciped turned out very well. I made some big changes to suit various dietary preferences (used Morning Star "ground beef" and left the bacon and biscuits out, which I was concerned about doing) but it was very tasty. It reminded me of a sloppy joe with a mesquite twist. It was even better the next day. Cooked as it was without the biscuits, we just ate it plain with a fork, but it would be great on buns. Thanks!

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2003
This was great! Even despite a couple of mistakes on my part (forgot to get green onions and bacon bits at the grocery and accidentally used basil instead of parsley), it turned out wonderfully. It was even better the next day - the sauce had thickened and was more seasoned. We even toasted a couple of bagels and ladled the leftover sauce onto them as a snack - YUM! Thanks!
