Ricotta Gnocchi

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
This rating is for the gnocchi only, as I made my own sauce (although I did add the chunks of fresh provolone to the sauce which was very nice). I drained my ricotta cheese using cheesecloth first, after doing that the flour amount seemed fine. Used the full amount of salt and pepper, and fresh minced garlic instead of dried. The dough was easy to work with and the gnocchi was delicious!

BBQ Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
This was very good. I added garlic powder and a chopped onion to the ground beef, and added some cheese below topping as well. Like other reviewers, I doubled topping for 9x13 pan. Next time I will try this with cornbread topping.

No-Fuss Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
I really liked this one, a definite kid pleaser too. I added minced garlic and poultry seasoning - you could add seasonings to fit your taste - the result is a tasty moist, fall off the bone chicken and yummy gravy

Broccoli Casserole III

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
If you read the reviews and change the cooking method, this will be great. As it is written, you will have problems. It doesn't tell you to cook the broccoli ahead of time, and if you don't at least thaw it 30 minutes is not going to be enough time to have hot broccoli and melted cheese. If you cook and drain the broccoli first it will turn out fine.

Pork Chops Stuffed with Smoked Gouda and Bacon

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
This was delicious! The smokiness of the gouda and the bacon combined with cooking on the outdoor grill was out of this world! So fast and easy, with a gourmet result!

Baked Orange Roughy Italian-Style

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
Simple and delicious! I used 4 Tbsp. of parmesean/romano blend cheese and it was great. My kids actually like it better than fried fish.

BBQ Steak

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
This was delicious! I loved that I could prep this in the am and let it sit in the fridge until dinner. I took the advice of another reviewer and used balsamic vinegar and it was perfection. I then shaved the leftovers paper thin to make an out of this world steak salad for lunch the next day!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2008
This was fresh and delicious! I added only 1 tsp. of sugar and used lemon curd instead of preserves - yum! I haven't made the chips yet, I got lazy and just bought the cinnamon pita chips at Trader Joe's.

Pizza Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
Yum! This was easy and delicious. I didn't use the green pepper (personal preference), and I used a small stick of pepperoni that I diced (I think it gets less greasy than the slices). I mixed in 1/2 of the cheese before putting in the oven. Then I topped it with the remaining cheese for the last 5 minutes.

Amish Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
Oh my gosh I just made this tonight and I've declared I will no longer make any other meatloaf! It is a sweet meatloaf, so don't try it if you don't like that. But if you grew up with meatloaf topped with bacon and ketchup - this is like that only way better! It is very moist but stays together well. I used two of the disposable loaf pans (they are too small to hold the whole thing in one), other than that I followed the recipe exactly.

Cassie's Wishy Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
I thought this was great and not too salty. I marinated my chicken parts overnight, then baked in a 400 degree oven for an hour. My 8 year old declared this to be the best chicken ever made!

Artichoke and Roasted Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2008
This is my new favorite dip. I added a clove of garlic in with the leeks, and I accidentally used 12 oz. of roasted peppers, but I thought the amount was perfect! I like this much better than the creamy versions. Served with baked pita chips.

Cod with Italian Crumb Topping

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2008
This was really good and easy. I stuck with the egg white at my daughter's request (doesn't like mayo), and the only thing I changed was to salt the fillets before baking. Ended up so crisp and light. Everyone including the kids asked that I make this one again.

Cube Steak Parmesan

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
This was good and different. The cube steaks became very tender which was nice. My son pointed out halfway through dinner "this tastes strangely like a meatball hoagie", and he was right! In a good way though. I used jarred spaghetti sauce and served with a side of pasta.

Creamed Chicken for Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
Quick, easy and yum! I used a rotisserie chicken, half and half instead of heavy cream, used a peas/carrots mix, and omitted almonds. Also added a little celery salt and poultry seasoning. Served over warm biscuits - perfect on a snowy day!

French Dip Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
This was so good. I didn't have thyme in the house, so in place of the rosemary & time I used Fine's Herbs. Best French dip sandwich we've ever had, and the taste just got better with the leftovers!

Pork Chops with Delicious Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
I originally tried this just because I had all the ingredients and it sounded fast and easy. It also turned out to be really yummy! After I had the chops started I realized I didn't have any more honey, so I substituted pure maple syrup and it still came out great. Just make sure you season the chops liberally.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
I wish I had read more of the reviews before making this because it definitely needed more spices. Other than that, it is really good - actually got better when reheated the next day!

Creamy Slow Cooker Potato Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
I agree with other reviewers that the soup as written ends up way to thick, but the flavors are spot on. I added more milk at the end to improve consistency and it was perfect.

Beef and Biscuit

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
This is a big hit at my house, especially with the guys. The last time I made it, I switched up the sauce and made a BBQ sauce with ketchup, mustard, brown sugar and vinegar to taste. Then continued with recipe as written - YUM!
