Home Made Mayonnaise

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
Made this with my stick blender as one reviewer suggested. I have two blender cups that came with it and they allow you to really use the head of the blender. I will use extra virgin olive oil and see how that works. Added a bit of cumin and some Siracha at the end and made tuna salad for my lunch with it.

Linguine with Sage and Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2013
Why this recipe does not include salt and pepper I will never know. I went a step further. After preparing the garlic/crumb mixture I sauted the chicken in the same pan. I added salt and pepper and the some Worcestershire sauce (about a tablespoon) and some chicken broth. Cooked the chicken until it was done and decided it needed a little kick. Siracha sauce is the old standby so I squirted some of that in. More cooking, tasted and it was great. I then added the egg noodles (what I had) and the crumb mixture. It soaked up all of the juice. The dish was great, but I would make with thighs next time. I doubled the chicken without doubling the crumb mixture, since I had two breasts in the package. It worked fine, just more chicken.

Chef John's Turkey Chili

Reviewed: May 13, 2013
I have made this chili at least 6 times, including for two parties. It is great chili and even better with sour cream and cheese. I also add pickles peppers at the end sometimes. If it is too hot reduce the Chipotle chili powder some.

If you want Beef Goulash like they eat in Hungary this is the thing. I have eaten it there and it was just like this. Great job with the video as well!

Mexican Pork and Green Chile Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2012
Meh... not enough spice and too much tomatoes. I would use more green chilies next time and cut up a jalapeno and add it as well when I add the onions and garlic. Needs more zest.

Lentil and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2012
I made it according to the recipe. I would do two things: less salt, maybe 1/4 and some crushed red pepper flakes for more spice. I used more sausage as you can't buy it in partial pounds. I also forgot the pasta, but it was plenty thick. Great soup.

Vibration Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2012
Four not five, as it is not extraordinary, but it is good sauce. I mixed the spices up in a sealed container and shook it up before adding the spices to the onion and garlic. Then I added the meat after the spices were fragrant. I cooked it for three hours on high in my crock pot and it came out great.

Sausage Smothered in Red Cabbage

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2011
Was not sure about this and did not have all the correct ingredients, but made it anyway. It was great as I made it and probably would have been better with all the right stuff.

Great recipe. I like my chili somewhat spicy and hearty and using less peppers did the job for me. I followed the previous reviewer's suggestions and it came out great! Thanks for the easy and tasty recipe!

Peach Curry Glazed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
I would add more liquid and pineapple to this recipe, and more curry as well. The combination of flavors is great, but could use some more spicing up.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

It works. The wife and I both ate this and we both lost weight. No, I did not follow the plan perfectly, but it was good and allowed me to lose weight. We both highly recommend it.

Curry Pumpkin Soup

This was good, really good. Just put enough curry paste in it and it is great. I enjoyed it a lot. It is light, easy to make and good for you.

Chicken Korma II

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
Last week I ate at a new Indian restaurant in Kent, Washington and had this. Liking it I wanted to make it for myself. I followed the recipe for the most part, but used coconut milk. If you don't like it spicy use less of the chili powder. It is spicy, but not too spicy. Ate it over Jasmine rice. It was really good.

Gravy Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
First, I love pork chops. Any way of making them is great with me. I cut up a couple of potatoes and put them under the meat. I also added about 1/2 cut sour cream to the soup and milk. It is a little juicier than I like so next time I would leave out the milk. I added the onion and garlic as well. Great, easy recipe.

Tantalizing Turkey and Blue Cheese Meatballs

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2008
One major problem is that the recipe calls for way too much black pepper. I would cut it to 1 tsp at most. I have to wonder it the tblsp is a misprint. It is OK, but I will do it much different next time.

Hamburgers and Ketchup Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
No, I would not eat every day, but it was great. I spiced it up a little and added more onions. Other than that it was outstanding. I made it with ground turkey as well and other than being a little on the soft side it was great.
