Slow Cooker Venison Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2011
I made some minor modifications based on other reviews, the results are quite good! 1 large onion (coarsely chopped), 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 tbsp. low sodium soy sauce, 3 cloves fresh garlic (finely chopped), 1 tsp. ground black pepper, 1 package dry onion soup mix with 2 cups of water, 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup, 1 lb carrots, 3 medium potatoes (cubed in 1-1/2" chunks). Mix all the seasonings, water and soup together. Place roast in crock pot, place veggies in on top of the roast. Pour soup and seasoning mixture over veggies. Cover and cook on low setting for 6 to 8 hours. Thicken, if desired with cornstarch, 1 tablespoon added at a time over heat until desired thickness is reached.

Slow-Cooked Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
Simple and tasty. I skipped the green pepper, since I didn't have one. Boiled the sausage before browning, less oil later and more flavor in the slow cooker. I also cut up the sausage before putting it in the slow cooker, after browning it. I also added about a 1/2 cup or so of water since I've had other spaghetti sauce recipes burn in the past. I'm sure this is due to the size of the pot versus how much food.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2011
It doesn't raise much after mixing, which I'll keep in mind for next time, especially if I choose to make cupcakes again. I used mini chocolate chips and made this into cupcakes. I dipped each cupcake in a chocolate ganache. Everyone that tried this cake loved it!

Apple Honey Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2011
I baked this into 2 loaves since I wanted to share. I chose to chop the apples in to rough chop of about 1/4 inch size pieces instead of shredding. I didn't have a box shredder on hand and don't own a food processor. It took about 55 minutes at 325 for these to finish, but I did check at 45 minutes and 50 minutes in, maybe it depends on the apples? When the loaves came out of the oven I drizzled about a tablespoon of honey onto each loaf and then sprinkled with powdered sugar. This cake came out nice and moist and not too sweet.
