Lemon-Lime Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
The day that I baked these, they were yummy. Once I refrigerated over night, they were SO DENSE, I really did not care for them.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Not impressed. I followed the recipe to the letter. A thick skin developed on top of the pie that ballooned in the oven. The end result looked like a shar pei. The pumpkin itself was mild in taste and over baked.

Dark Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2008
This is THE BEST chocolate cake I have ever tasted! Wow, and so easy. I didn't even have to get the mixer out; did fine by hand. As suggested by others, I replaced milk and vinegar with buttermilk. I used this recipe to make cupcakes, baked at 350 degrees for 24 minutes. Perfection.

Cranberry Chicken III

Wow, I was stunned that this was sooo yummy! I did not use the corn syrup, I didnt have any, so I put a splash of molasses instead. It worked fine!

Maple Bacon Pancake

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Really delicious. Kind of like a homemade McGriddle. I ran out of syrup, so I sprinkled with butter and a pinch of sugar in lieu of the syrup topper. I will make next time I have overnight guests.

John's Quiche Lorraine

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
This is a great basic quiche. Pretty darn close to the recipe that my mom has used for years. We have tweaked it with spinach, zucchini, mushrooms and different cheeses and spices. I stuck to the recipe, with the suggestion of added cheese (gruyere) and a couple of sweet onions that I had on hand. If you have never made a quiche before, this is a great place to start.

Bulgogi (Korean BBQ)

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
This is such an easy, delicious recipe. And flexible. Tonight I used OJ in place of the pear juice and pork instead of beef. WIN.

Original Irish Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2003
Yum! I made this as a take-home gift for my holiday party. Ohhhh so good. I did split the almond extract into half and used coconut extract as the other half. I also split the heavy cream with 2% milk and used fat-free condensed milk. We loved it, I will definately make it again.

Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2006
I used the pecan crusted portion of this recipe the other night, it was DELISH. I added an egg to the dressing, as I was skitish about the stick of the pecans, and all was well. Thanks for an easy and delicious suggestion.

Very easy and flavorful. I marinated the chicken all day, drained and then cooked it in the broiler. Very delicious dinner.

Slippery Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
While I have never had Slippery Shrimp, the idea of this recipe sounded really delicious. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed. It had an odd chemical taste to it, that I gather was the combination of vinegar, wine and cayenne. In spite of all of the sugar in the recipe, I found no sweetness to this. I guess I won't be making again. Thanks for the recipe though.

Lemon Ginger Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
We. Have. A. Winner. This is soooo good! Wow. I am going to have to control the urge to eat the leftovers BEFORE tomorrow's dinner. This dish is vibrant and flavorful. I paired it with Trader Joe's Confetti Rice (freezer). It was a delicious dinner and I will definitely make it again and again.

Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
Yum, Yum, Yum! Simple and so flavorful. I have to admit, I did not have an onion on hand so I just skipped it, and I didn't miss it one bit. I served on top of a chicken mozzarella salad with fresh strawberries and basil from the local farmers market. Can't wait to eat some more today!

Simple, fresh and a great adult twist on simple weekend watermelon. I used the fresh mint from my garden, which made it that much more delicious.

Beef Martini

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2011
Wow, this is delicious. I was a little nervous because I thought that it smelled a little funky while marinating. But, after it's on the grill and it gets that cooked-outside taste...delish! I actually made TWO versions, exactly as noted for one steak and another that replaced brandy for gin and bitters for vermouth; making a Brandy-Beef Old Fashion. Hey, I'm from Wisconsin, what do ya want?? Side note: I did pierce the steaks a few times before sticking in the bags overnight. Make this recipe, you won't be sorry.
