About this Cook
A was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Milwaukee about 10 years ago. I love to entertain, and for me, cooking is like art. It isn't just about the recipe tasting good, it has to look good on the plate as well. Somehow, after years of various graphic design jobs, I have found myself merging my love of cooking with my career and I now and the sr. art director for a major food magazine. I love because of the reviews from others. If a recipes doesn't have at least 4 stars, odds are I won't even try it. Kooky, crazy, and full of laughter - that is me in a nutshell. Be sure to check out my cupcake adventures at .
My favorite things to cook
cupcakes, shell fish, cupcakes, salmon, cupcakes, steaks, cupcakes, meatloaf, cupcakes, quick breads, chile rellenos, cupcakes, anything new and challenging, oh...did I mention cupcakes?
My cooking triumphs
I love to cook for friends. Prep for days, cook all day and provide an amazing meal that lasts for hours. I have also become quite the baker in the past year or so, and that is a totally different type of satisfaction.
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 20 I wanted to make a fancy dinner for my boyfriend. I accidentally turned on the jennair grill rather than the burner and ended up lighting the cutting board that covered it when not in use, ON FIRE! Smoke alarm when off, flames flew in the kitchen, extinguishers were sprayed. We laughed our butts off.

Strawberry Cake from Scratch
This makes about 3 dozen cupcakes. I have baked a lot of cupcakes. A LOT. These taste delicious. They do not rise up well. They are very flat. If you know that going in, then go for it, because the taste is great. Fun twist, I used cherry instead of strawberry for the jello and the fruit and tossed in a fistful of chocolate chips. Yum.

My Best Clam Chowder
First and foremost. THIS RECIPE IS DELICIOUS. Exactly as it is written. Period. Make it, make it now. You will wonder where it has been all of your life. Yes, use the vinegar. Don't skip it, it matters. If you have any other shellfish in your fridge/freezer, throw it in. Why not. Its delicious, enjoy.

Lemon Ginger Shrimp
We. Have. A. Winner. This is soooo good! Wow. I am going to have to control the urge to eat the leftovers BEFORE tomorrow's dinner. This dish is vibrant and flavorful. I paired it with Trader Joe's Confetti Rice (freezer). It was a delicious dinner and I will definitely make it again and again.
