Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2003
These were very yummy! The texture was slightly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I added a 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and halved the salt. Perfect!

A Pad Thai Worth Making

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
This is tasty though not as good as the Pad Thai from restaurants and it's also on the salty side; you might want to try reduced-sodium chicken broth and soy sauce.

Chocolate Frozen Yogurt

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2006
This was VERY sweet. I love sweet stuff, but this was just too much. I would halve the sugar next time. Also, I did 2 tablespoons cornstarch which thickened it up very well.

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2003
These were by far the best brownies I have tried so far. I used two eggs and sprinkled about 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips on top and they came out great. The chips stayed in the top 1/2 of the brownies and didn't burn on the bottom of the pan. Perfect!!!

Molasses Cookies V

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2003
For a long time I have been looking for a recipe for a soft molasses cookie that wasn't too sweet. This was perfect! They were easy to make, have a great soft texture and the flavour is even better after a day or two. Next time I might try adding 1/4 cup more molasses to make them even richer. Overall a great recipe!

Dill Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
This is good but needs a little something extra. Maybe some grated romano and a little extra fresh ground pepper and salt just before serving.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
The best banana bread I've ever made. Not oily or greasy, not to sweet. Perfect!

Gingerbread Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
Absolutely delicious, not too sweet, lots of flavour, perfect with the orange glaze. I squeezed fresh oranges instead of using orange juice and it was delicious!

Fluffy Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
These are fairly good. I added a little extra flour and then rolled the dough out and cut it into donut shapes with a biscuit cutter (and then cut a hold in the center with a little cookie cutter). They definitely need a glaze (I brushed melted butter over mine and then sprinkled cinnamon and sugar over mine) or else they will be really plain and dry.

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
This is delicious! I used light sour cream and green olives and it was delicious! Use low-sodium soup if you can find it, the taco mix makes it salty enough.

Aunt Dee Dee's Apple Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2007
I didn't have any canned pie filling (nor do I care for it) so I made my own; chopped up two large granny smith apples and mixed them with the 2 tsp sugar and also 1/2 cup brown sugar. I only had 1 egg so I substituted low-fat sour cream and it turned out GREAT! Will definitely make this again.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2003
WOW! I lost my usual recipe for chocolate cake (which I liked because it made a large 3-layer 9" cake) so I went looking here and tried this one. It made a big 12x12 cake for my niece's birthday that was chocolately and MOIST! I've never had a chocolate cake this moist before. I have stopped looking for the recipe I lost because this one is all I need!

Picnic Potato Salad with No Mayonnaise

Reviewed: May 20, 2013
This was really good. I don't like mayo so I thought I'd try one with a vinaigrette. I left out the basil and instead put in fresh dill. I also forgot the blue cheese but I threw in some bacon bits. Very yummy! Definitely going to make this again.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
I am only giving this 4 stars because I had to triple the amount of water it called for in order for it to stay together. I tried making it with just the 3 tablespoons and it fell apart and was totally unmanageable. After adding the extra water though it turned out great! Makes a nice deep-dish pie crust.

Awesome! I used 1 can of pie filling as the recipe states and it was plenty moist and sweet, no need for 2 cans.

Coconut Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
DELICIOUS! I used my mom's from scratch yellow cake recipe instead of a mix, but I kept everything else the same incl. adding the pudding. I made a 2 layer cake instead of a 9x13. It was moist and had so much flavor! I was worried that a cream cheese frosting would be overpowering on a yellow cake but it was perfect! This is the only coconut cake recipe I need!!!
