Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2003
These were by far the best brownies I have tried so far. I used two eggs and sprinkled about 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips on top and they came out great. The chips stayed in the top 1/2 of the brownies and didn't burn on the bottom of the pan. Perfect!!!

Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2003
These were very yummy! The texture was slightly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I added a 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and halved the salt. Perfect!

Cornish Splits

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2003
These were good but not wonderful (though my husband did like them alot). They were soft on the inside but had a thick, somewhat tough crust. They were also lacking in flavor. I will keep looking for another recipe.

Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2003
This was easy to make, fluffy and full of flavor. I added about 4 tablespoons of rum to the glaze. Very good!

Garlic Cheese Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2003
These were very good, the only thing I would have done different was grease the cookie sheet, mine stuck.

Apple Crisp II

Very yummy! I used 3/4 cup white sugar instead of 1 cup. Turned out great!

Molasses Cookies V

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2003
For a long time I have been looking for a recipe for a soft molasses cookie that wasn't too sweet. This was perfect! They were easy to make, have a great soft texture and the flavour is even better after a day or two. Next time I might try adding 1/4 cup more molasses to make them even richer. Overall a great recipe!

The Old Boy's Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2003
This is fabulous! Not to sweet, and the crumb topping adds so much extra flavour! I couldn't wait for it to cool so I ate it warm as a cobbler and it was fantastic. Definitely on my make again list!

Orange Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2003
These are very moist, light and fluffy! Recipe makes enough batter to fill 12 muffin cups FULL! I added a little cinnamon and allspice, and reduced the fat by using light sour cream in place of butter. Yum!

Coconut Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
DELICIOUS! I used my mom's from scratch yellow cake recipe instead of a mix, but I kept everything else the same incl. adding the pudding. I made a 2 layer cake instead of a 9x13. It was moist and had so much flavor! I was worried that a cream cheese frosting would be overpowering on a yellow cake but it was perfect! This is the only coconut cake recipe I need!!!

Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
This was quite good. I doubled the strawberries but left the rhubarb at 3 cups and it turned out fine. I also left the sugar at 1 cup and it was a nice sweet-tart combo. Next time I will add some cinnamon and spices to the crumb topping and cut back on the butter, it was a little bland.

Simple But Awesome Lemon Pepper Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 29, 2003
Over all this was very good. What I did was mix the oil, worcesteshire and lemon pepper, poke some small holes in the chops and marinate them for about 4 hours. Baking them in foil was great, they came out JUICY and fully cooked, no drying out or burning. The only complaint from my husband was not enough pepper. I will definitely make these again and probably even marinate them overnight next time.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2003
WOW! I lost my usual recipe for chocolate cake (which I liked because it made a large 3-layer 9" cake) so I went looking here and tried this one. It made a big 12x12 cake for my niece's birthday that was chocolately and MOIST! I've never had a chocolate cake this moist before. I have stopped looking for the recipe I lost because this one is all I need!

English Butter Tarts

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2003
These were good, but not as good as my regular recipe that I found in a local cooking magazine. They lacked the added flavour that my regular recipe has (rum and some vinegar and real butter). I will stick with my old recipe and won't make these again.

Overnight Cinnamon Rolls I

These are great! Not too sweet, and not too overloaded with cinnamon. They are best right out of the oven, but are delicious anytime!

I put in about 2/3 of how much sugar it called for but kept everything else the same and it turned out very well.

Chocolate Frozen Yogurt

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2006
This was VERY sweet. I love sweet stuff, but this was just too much. I would halve the sugar next time. Also, I did 2 tablespoons cornstarch which thickened it up very well.

Pecan Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2006
This is a delicious cake. I only put in 2 cups of sugar and it was plenty sweet. I also added a cup of fresh raspberries and a cinnamon sugar swirl though the center. Very good!

Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2007
This was good, but it tasted mainly like icing sugar. It needs more vanilla or something to give it some additional flavor.

Aunt Dee Dee's Apple Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2007
I didn't have any canned pie filling (nor do I care for it) so I made my own; chopped up two large granny smith apples and mixed them with the 2 tsp sugar and also 1/2 cup brown sugar. I only had 1 egg so I substituted low-fat sour cream and it turned out GREAT! Will definitely make this again.
