Taste of Home's Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
I thought these were just okay. Followed the recipe exactly. They tasted like some of the Light versions of muffins I've tried. Probably won't make again any time soon, too much work.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
Loved this recipe! Super easy w/ bread machine. I never have good luck getting breads to rise, but didn't have any problems with this one. The only thing i didn't care for was the cream cheese frosting. Hubby & I thought it was too rich for these, so I made another batch using regular buttercream frosting. Inlaws were very impressed! will defintely make again!

Breakfast Casserole III

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
This is a great base recipe! I made it using frozen hashbrown potatoes, & it couldn't have been any easier. I did use fewer eggs, 10 instead of 12 & still came out perfect. Guests raved about it! Husband thought it was excellent with salsa on top. Will make over and over!

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2003
So easy! I set my crockpot on low for about 10 hours while at work & came home to a wonderful smelling kitchen. Only change I made was using half of the called for vinegar & added a little BBQ sauce to the ketchup. My sauce was a little thin, made the buns a little soggy. Next time i will add a little thickener before serving, but will defintely make again!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Squares

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2003
These were fantastic! Even better then store bought peanut butter cups & super easy to make. i kept mine in the fridge, they were pretty soft otherwise. i also used part chunky reduced fat PB & reduced fat grahams, still delicious with less fat!

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2003
This was really easy & very tasty! i used Oreo crust w/ hot fudge layer. i also used half chunky peanut butter. I prefered the texture of partially frozen pie rather then totally thawed pie. The cream cheese makes it pretty rich so 1 slice is plenty. Will definetly make again.

Key Lime Pie I

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2003
i've tried to make key lime pie a couple of times before & it was a disaster, until now! this was pretty easy, i used store bought graham crust. i think the secret is to use real key limes. i'm not a real big fan of key lime pie, but i will make again for company & hubby.

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2003
WOW! This is so chocolaty! Mine came out like a chocolate cake surrounding a thick fudge middle. I substituted choc syrup for the coffee liqueur & served w/ whipped cream & strawberries. I will make again, but only if i have enough company to finish off the whole thing, too addictive for me!

Good Cookies II

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2003
i thought these were just okay. they weren't as chocolaty as i thought nor as sweet as most cookies. this recipe made almost 7 dozen cookies. co-workers thought they had a 'light' taste, not too rich. i substituted peanut butter chips for the chopped up PB cups. I probably won't make these again, there are a lot of other recipes on this site that would be more suited to me when i need a PB & chocolate fix.

Macaroon Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2003
i thought these were just okay. they were definately coconutty, but the cookie part wasn't sweet enough for me. Very messy to roll the dough & coat w/ coconut. i doubt i will make this recipe again.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
This is so easy & tasty! My husband wants me to make this all the time. I would probably use less of the butter/sugar combo next time. it was a little too much for us. Great recipe & would definetly make again.

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2003
This was good. I doubled the brown sugar topping & mixed in middle layer as reviewers suggested. i will probably make again as i always have these ingredients on hand. However, next time i might add nuts or chocolate chips w/ the topping.

Butter Crescents

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2003
These seemed like a dinner roll you'd get at a steak house. Way better then the refrigerated/ canned crescent rolls. I made 3 batches of these for Thanksgiving. All my guest said they were great. Recipe definately makes more than 1 dozen, unless you want really big rolls. These are just as good w/out the egg brushed on.

Slow Cooker Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2004
this was just okay for us. I followed the recipe exactly with only substitution of turkey pepperoni. It was okay, but not worth the effort to make again.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2004
my hubby was skeptical when i told him what we were having, but he loved this sandwich. my roast didn't shread well, so it was more like chunks. i didn't use all the spices called for because i didn't have on hand & subbed beef broth for the water. Served on toasted hoagie roll w/ cheese & pepperchinis. defintely will make again and try other topping suggestions.

This is fabulous bread! my hubby can't get enough. i subbed half the oil w/ applesauce. Next time i'll cut back on the cinnamon, but otherwise perfect!

Chicken or Turkey Tetrazzini Deluxe

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2005
this is a great recipe, very easy to change to your personal taste. I've made this a few times w/out using the sherry, just added extra broth. Freezes very well too.

Chocolate Cobbler

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2007
This isn't really what I expected. I was looking for more of a molten choc cake, this was very runny on the bottom. It was a little better the next day when most of the "water" ran out in the missing portion. I think it was missing that fudgyness I was expecting. I don't think I'll try this again, I'd rather just make brownies.

Mini Pumpkin Muffins with Orange Drizzle

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2008
these were pretty good & I don't really care for pumpkin flavor. I made them for a playdate, my kids ate them up okay. The icing soaked into the muffins when I stored them so they were a bit sticky. this seemed to make a ton, I gave away a dozen or so & we had plenty leftover. I might make these again, but only if i need a lot of something for thanksgiving season.
