Pumpkin Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
I don't usually like anything pumpkin but the combo of the pumpkin with the brownie was perfect. I made muffins like shown in one of the pics. Recipe as is made 12 muffins perfectly and took 30 mins in oven.

Butternut Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2006
Wow! Wow! This was great. Light and fluffy and so yummy and sweet. The vanilla wafers give it such a great flavor. The topping was thick and I wasn't able to spread it. So, I just plopped it on top, let it melt in the oven and spread it all over the top after it had melted enough to be spread easily. Myself and my family loved this one!

Very moist! I doubled the ketchup sauce though. Highly recommend for a quick and easy supper.

Good basic stew. I only gave 4 stars because it wasn't very flavorful.

Delicious. Use less creamed corn.

Southern Living Magazine's Chicken-Fried Steak

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2005
This was delicious and just how chicken fried steak should be. We would have given 5 stars except we felt it could have been a little more flavorful. Going to experiment with some seasoning next go around.

Greek Garbanzo Bean Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2004
My husband and I enjoyed this salad. We wanted to try something different. It had good flavor. It was quick to prepare and went great with breadsticks. I would recommend doubling the feta cheese because what they recommended just didn't seem like enough.

Creamy Potato Pork Chop Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2004
Very good recipe. You should definitely season the pork chops when frying them because otherwise they will be very bland. Enjoyed this one.

Chicken Hobo

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2004
This recipe was delicious but I would omit the chicken. Chicken came out very dry and flavorless. I would follow the recipe for some tasty veggies and then grill the chicken separately.

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2004
Super quick and easy! My suggestions: Add 1 can cream of chicken soup (if you like it thicker, replace one of the cans of broth). Try Rotel's "Chili Fixins", it's diced tomatoes, chilis, and a chili powder seasoning. Also, instead of black beans, use a can of Del Monte Savory Sensations "Rio Grande Vegetables". It's Pinto beans, tomatoes, corn, green chilis in a spicy sauce. Served this over the chips with shredded cheddar cheese, fresh tomatoes, avacado, and sour cream. Yum. Yum.

Tender Onion Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2003
This recipe was tasty and easy. I only gave it three stars because even though it was good it was a little plain. Next time I think I'll make it with mashed potatoes and make some chicken gravy to go on top of both.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2003
I tried this recipe the first time following the instructions exactly. I made the following changes the second time and it turned out much better. I suggest cooking the pork chops for no more than 1 hour so they don't dry out unless your chops are extremly thick. The gravy was very thick so I added another can of soup, greatly increased the amount of milk, and added a package of Lipton onion soup mix so the gravy was flavorful, thinner, and was enough to go on the rice.

Amy's Garlic Egg Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2003
This recipe was delicious and easy to make. I don't like to waste spices and this recipe calls for way too much quantity wise. When making the bread crumb mixture I recommend using 1/4 of what the recipe calls for. Otherwise, you'll be throwing away alot of spices.

Chicken and Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2003
I sauted minced garlic, chopped onion, and chopped chicken breast in a pan. I boiled frozen veggies separately. I made sauce as stated and then added chicken, pasta, and veggies at the last minute. I put in a little more soup and milk than called for and it turned out great. I highly recommend this dish.

Brown Sugar Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2003
I did not care for these at all. They were dry and not very flavorful. If you insist on trying them, when you make the filling...use half the suggested amount of cinnamon and maybe add some more brown sugar. Also I suggest mixing the sugar/cinnamon combo into the butter and spread it all on together.
