About this Cook
I am an ecstatic mother of 2 beautiful girls - a 6-year old, McKenna, and 4-year old, Jordan. I've loved to cook from as far back as I can remember. I distincly recall when I was 4-years old - standing on a chair over a stove making a hamburger (what were my parents thinking?!!). I still try to prepare as many home-cooked meals as possible but being a mom to two small children is a challenge.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking Chinese dishes. I picked up a lot of recipes from my Mother and have made up a few of my own.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making homemade wontons and fried dim sum.
My cooking triumphs
Mastering greek "moussaka" and making pies from scratch.
My cooking tragedies
Trying to duplicate Cheesecake Factory's Jambalaya dish.

Albondigas
This is the BEST recipe! I added zucchini and more seasonings (garlic powder, onion powder) to the meatballs and soup (granulated chicken bouillon) otherwise followed the recipe. A definite keeper and it makes a ton of meatballs! Can't wait to bring this to the next potluck.

Bread Pudding II
So yummy and easy! It was a big hit at our Labor Day BBQ. Doubled the recipe for a 9X13 pan and reduced eggs as other suggested. Love the fact that you don't have to bake in a water bath. A definite keeper!

Steamed Lobster Tails
My first time making lobster. I bought some good size lobster tails from Costco. Followed recipe exactly but there just was not a lot of flavor to this and the texture was kind of chewy. I didn't overcook it either. Will keep my quest going for the perfect way to prepare lobster.
