Savory Crescent Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
So easy and everyone at my house liked it. Next time I will make the filling more like chicken salad (apples, celery and onion). Thanks to the reviewer who made that suggestion. Didn't think they would be very pretty, but they turned out ok. Not as good as some of the other pictures. Kudos to the cooks who made them look so beautiful! :)

Pumpkin Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
My 10 year old has requested this for her birthday cake! Too funny! It's very good and moist. I added an extra 1/2 cup of pumpkin and baked in a 9x13 pan. It doesn't have a coffee cake constancy but that might be from me added extra pumpkin. I might double the topping next time. No complaints though, everyone loves it.

Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
Our grill died a slow death, so I'm happy that I could use the oven. I baked them at 425 for 20 minutes and then broiled to crisp the bacon. I took out the seeds and membranes. They had a little heat, but not much. Perfect for our family. On some of the peppers I used a whole slice of bacon and other only half. Awesome appetizer! Will make again soon!

Mama's Best Broiled Tomato Sandwich

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
Mama knows best! :) My husband asked that I please make these regularly. Delicious and so easy! Made them on English Muffins because I had a lot and it was the only bread in the house. Also added a 1/2 slice of Provolone cheese. Thanks for the recipe!

Lemon Coconut Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2008
A lemon lover's dream. I used 2/3 cup of lemon juice not a 1/2 cup. No other changes. After it cooled, I used a plastic knife to cut them. Thanks for the recipe!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
I went back and forth about trying these. Some reviews were thumbs up and some thumbs down. But, since it was only 3 ingredients, why not. My family is glad I made them. I followed a lot of the suggestions of other reviewers. After I baked the cake (Red Velvet), I let it cool for about 5 minutes. Then I used a fork to run through the cake and break it up into crumbs. I then transferred the crumbs to a bowl and added the can of frosting (cream cheese). It made a gooey mix. I then made the cake balls with my Pampered Chef large scoop and put them in the freezer for about an hour. I used Candiquik - chocolate candy coating (16 oz.), found at Walmart. You need it all, not just 3 oz. I found that the chocolate set real fast, maybe because the balls are cold. So if you are using sprinkles, have them ready. My family has requested them again, so I'll be making some more soon. Thanks for the recipe! Kids especially love them!

Blueberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
Such an easy and refreshing salad! I omitted the dressing and bought Kraft Light Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing. The colors of the salad and the red of the dressing made it look beautiful too! I plan to make this a lot this summer!

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
My husband and I think these taste and look like restaurant quality burritos. I left out the tomato soup, added a 1/2 cup of salsa instead, and baked them at 350 for 20 minutes. I wasn't sure about the chili w/o beans, but it was good. They were very filling! Thanks for the recipe!

Double Chocolate Sprinkle Cookies

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
Get your cup of milk ready! This is a very chocolaty cookie. I halved the recipe, used my Pampered Chef large scoop and it still made a lot of cookies. I would have been baking all day if I didn't half the recipe. I also left out the nuts because the kids don't like them. The first sentence in the directions should probably say 'cream the butter and sugars'(plural). I almost forgot to put in the brown sugar because it says 'sugar'. Overall a good cookie. :)

Move over banana bread, these are awesome! So moist and a wonderful flavor. I also used oil in place of butter. Thanks for the recipe!

Joanne's Super Hero Sandwich

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
This is a nice spring/summer recipe. Made it the night before and had it for dinner the next day. I used two 8 oz. oval loaves of crusty bread, 2 clove of garlic and not quite all the sandwich meat it called for. I took another reviewers advice and used my food processor to pulse all the ingredients in step 1. Family loved it. Thanks for the recipe.

Sweet Mustard Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
My family really likes this recipe. I cut the butter to 5-6 Tbsp. The key is to bake it in a shallow (9x13) pan. Once when I used a smaller pan, the chicken just sat in the butter. When baked in a shallow pan, the sauce almost looks like it burns or becomes crisp and dark after it cooks for a little while. That's when I start basting it. There's not a lot of sauce left over. The sauce becomes a glaze, if you keep basting it.

Poppy Seed Bread with Glaze

I made this for a brunch and it was well received. I baked it in a bundt pan and cooked it for a little over an hour. I used only vanilla and almond extract. Thank you for the recipe! :)

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
I'm very happy that I tried this recipe. It was the first time I've made bagels and they turned out beautiful and tasted great. At first I was scared to eat one in fear that they wouldn't taste as good as they looked. But they were delicious! I followed the advice of others and added 1/4 cup more water to the bread machine. I also let it rest for 30 minutes instead of 10. It made 8 perfect sized bagels. The most time consuming part was waiting for the bread machine to finish. Thanks for the recipe. :)

Peppermint Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
I liked tat2whttrsh's idea of a peppermint blossom cookie. I needed something for a cookie exchange and these were really good. For a blossom cookie I omitted the candy canes and added a few drops of peppermint extract. I rolled the dough into a 1 inch ball and cooked for about 10 minutes. The cookies will start to crack just a little when they are done. When they came out, I put a Hershey's Candy Cane Kiss in the center of each. The kiss melted and pooled in the center of the cookie. UPDATE: When the kiss melts I let my kids take a toothpick and swirl it around. It's fun and looks pretty.

Thai Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
This was very good! I did change a few things based on other reviews. I used only 1/2 cup of peanut sauce and shredded the chicken. Also, instead of bean sprouts and the shredded carrots, I bought a package of broccoli slaw. It saved time and had a nice crunch.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
Really great chili! I was hoping it was as good as people had reviewed, and it was! I left out the bacon bits and only had enough chili powder for 2 tablespoons. It still had plenty of kick. I wasn't sure if you were suppose to drain the one can of chili beans in spicy sauce. I decided not to drain it and it was fine. I let it cook on low heat for 3.5 hours. It wasn't too thick. I was concerned at first because it looked really thick, but it was perfect. Remember to stir every once in a while. Thanks for the recipe!

Strawberry Cobbler I

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2007
Tried for the first time this weekend. Wonderful recipe! I also used only 1/2 cup of water, glad I did. I used 4 cups of strawberries and baked it in a 9x9 inch pan. I might add 1 more cup of strawberries next time. Thanks for the recipe.

Killer Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2006
Really good cheesecake! I almost didn't try it because it seemed too easy to be true. I'm glad I did! I like that you bake it in a 9x13 inch pan. I used 2 cups graham cracker crumbs instead of crushing them myself. I melted the 1/2 cup butter to make it easier. I don't own a food processor so I used my Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. It worked just fine. There were a few lumps in the cheesecake mixture but after baking they were gone. Thanks for sharing!
