What's for dinner is on my mind when I open my eyes in the morning. I love cooking for my family. I am getting to the point where I don't like to eat out cause I feel I can make it better and cheaper at home. I remember being 4 or 5 yrs old helping my mom make dinner, by 10 I was making dinner for my parents.
My favorite things to cook
I grow up a meat and potatos girl.And on boil sea food. I am from LA. What I like to cook has flavor.Not spice. Well maybe a little. When I make brown gravy and roast my kids want to lick their plates. ok they
My favorite family cooking traditions
Gumbo Gumbo Gumbo and my mom makes the best. Sadly I can't make it like her. I tried for years. For Christmas and Thanksgiving from all the food we cook, gumbo is all I eat. No turkey, No ham, just GUMBO.
My cooking triumphs
Not gumbo!!lol Although mine is ok. The only triumph I need is my children saying that's gooood, and more please.
My cooking tragedies
Fried rice. Can't do it. It's bad, very bad. I am stay away for it for awhile til I get up enough courage to try it again.

Oh So Good Pork Chops
We loved this. I made some changes. Used pork gravy pack,fresh garlic, a can of cream of mushroom,and a can of Franco America beef gravy. It was oh so good! Very very easy. Served with mash potato and corn. The pork was so tender. I will make this again, again and again. If you get my point. lol Enjoy people! :)

Auto Parts Chicken
I made this for my 3 children. Only I used broc. it was all I had. I added onion and garlic powder. A little red pepper flakes, more fresh garlic. I had to remove the chicken and broc. out of the pan. The potatos were not done. But once I add it all back my kids and I loved. I will make this again w/ broc & carrots.OH I add more broth cause I served it over rice.
