Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2008
these are awesome! I was looking for a recipe to replace the box kind (the only kind my (picky) hubby and I seem to like) and decided to try this one. after my husband tried them and said they were delicious, I asked if he like them better than the boxed kind. He looked very confused and said "these aren't from the box?" So I think we have a winner! The only change I made were: I added between 1/4- 1/2 cup milk to make it have the same consistency as the boxed kind, and used 1/2 brown and 1/2 white sugar.

Jiffy Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2004
I woke up one saturday morning and decided to treat my roommates- but being a college student, our "mornings" are short and I needed something quick. Well, my pickiest roommate just asked for seconds! I like that they are separated in the muffin pan easy and no "cheating" when someone cuts themselves a roll! I made a different icing with splenda, a little butter, milk and vanilla (no measurements, just eyeballing it, sorry!) a definite keeper!

Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
This is one of those breads that tastes pretty good fresh out of the oven, but not so much when eaten later. It's tasty, but not something I'd crave.

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
These were pretty good, especially if you want a healthy banana bread, but not as tasty as I'd hopped. I used applesauce instead of oil, and added a 1/2 cup more bananas. Another downside is that these got moldy real fast. I'll probably make them again, but simply because it's a good beakfast.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
I would make these for breakfast for myself everyday if they weren't so fattening!! after I made these the first time I refused to let anyone else have any cause they were so good! the topping is amazing. I used rasberries instead of blueberries, simply because the grocery store was out of frozen blueberries (can you believe it?). However, they were so good I have always used rasberries ever since!

Mostaccioli Mosta

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
This was a very tasty recipe, but not the best mostaccioli I've eaten. I made this for some friends here in college and this was stolen from me. I will probably make this again, but not anytime soon. it's kinda messy to cook, but tasty nontheless.

Apple Loaf

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
I made these into muffins for breakfast. They were small, but good to say the least. They were especially easy, and lasted quite a while! I plan on making these for my family when I get home from college.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread I

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
I love this bread! it's so good, some one stole one of the loaves from me in the dorm (I was very upset to say the least). I eat a slice of this bread with organic peanut butter and marmalade-it is absolutely mouth watering! I always get questions as to what I'm eating, and then jealous looks. ;)

Zesty Tomato Soup for One

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
This soup was alright. very healthy and tasty (I love tomatos and vegetable juice) but can be a little too zesty without crackers or some sort of bread to go with. Will probably make again, but onlyl in place of cambell's tomato soup that I eat like twice a year.

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2003
Holy moly are these good! AND they came out PERFECTLY!!! I made them for my valentine this year and-well, lets just say they made him think I liked him more than I did! ;) I called my dad from the dorm after I made them to brag-now he's gonna use it and cook them for his buddies at the firestation. They were nice and soft until the last one was gone! These aren't too cakey, and not too flat-wonderful! There is a reason the recipe makes so many!

Brown Sugar Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2003
oh, good heavens are these delicious! I was desparate to play with some dough in my dorm and have some breakfast food in my room for when I dash out the door in the morning. I was running low on my baking supplies and didn't have any yeast, so I was very excited to have found a recipe without much preparation time needed. I mixed up some glaze to put on top-oh, how they melted in my mouth! I got a lot of dirty looks when I told others I wasn't sharing (I ended up sharing anyway-grrrr) and now I have only four left. I am going to make these all the time now! talk about giving me a good reason to wake up in the morning! The only modification I made was I mixed the filling together and THEN spread it on the dough-I made a little more filling than called for and poured the extra on the bottom of the baking pan before I placed the rolls in it. This makes them nice and gooy on the one side.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2003
I am a poor poor college student and love to cook a little too much. I didn't want to bother my mother to ask for her recipe for oatmeal cookies (wich I can never seem to get right), and decided to try this one. OOOO boy! Now I can brag that I can make better oatmeal cookies than her! Very easy to make, turned out perfectly-I'm trying my hardest to stop my dorm neighbors from stealing them. I have to lock the door and/or carry the bowl of cookies with me if I leave the room and people are in it; Otherwise I would never get to eat them! I added a couple of teaspoons of cinnamon and a few more chocolate chips-they were incredible!!
