White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2015
I followed the suggestions for the crust which was to up it to 2 cups and reduce sugar to 1 tbs. I also made sure all ingredients were room temp lined the bottom of my springform pan with parchment paper and wrapped the outside with foil then baked in a water bath for one hour and left it in the oven with the door cracked and heat off for one hour then I put it in the fridge overnight. BEST CHEESECAKE EVER! I also blended the raspberries water and sugar BEFORE I cooked them and put them through the fine mesh strainer with my rubber spatula and got 99% of the seeds out. I am very glad I used frozen raspberries instead of the preserves because they were nice and tart which really complimented the cheesecake. I am already planning to make one of these for work and then another for a get together. It is really delicious.

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2013
This is more a review of the sauce than the recipe as a whole as my chicken is marinating in it now. I did however just make a double batch of the sauce and it is DELICIOUS! I am not a fan of dijon and used spicy brown which is still a tad too horseradish tasting for me but the honey cuts it for me. I used a really good quality honey and A1. We are already thinking that this will be a staple for sandwiches.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
Not only is it good bread but it makes a EXCELLENT cinnamon roll. Used the Cinnabon recipe for the topping and filling and I have vowed to not make them again unless im giving all away and only saving one for myself. The first time I made them I ate 4!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
Only made a few changes. Added garlic and worcestershire sauce. That didnt quite do it so I added some steak seasoning and that did the trick. Sliced the meat up and then put it back in for about an hour. Also made French Bread Rolls to die for from this site but made them big enough for sandwich buns. turned out very very good and will make again.

I made these with a couple changes. Added about 1/4 tsp more salt and a tablespoon of honey. I also made them big enough to be sandwich rolls and used them with the french dip crock pot recipe here. DELICIOUS!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
This is a good base. I usually use stew meat that comes in cubes fromt he butcher that I brown. I also add thyme, garlic, beef bullion and a little bit of onion powder. I add carrots and scrubbed red potatos and let it cook all day. Delicious!

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
This turned out really really good. I think I may have put in a little more cinnamon and nutmeg I also put in a pinch of salt. Its nice to have an actual french toast recipe instead of wingin it like I usually do!

Carol's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
Pretty good recipe. Omitted the water chestnuts (didnt have any)I went easy on the poultry seasoning, I added dried cranberries instead of grapes (what I had on hand). Also used half miracle whip and half sour cream and a splash of apple cider vinager for extra zip. You can play around with this a lot and get just what you want I think. Thanks for sharing!

Spicy Chipotle Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
I really enjoyed this. They wernt dry at all and I did take the advice of some other reviewers and I added shreaded mozzarella into the meat, I added two peppers and omitted the onion powder. I also only put about 1 tsp of cilantro because I am not super big on it and half the season salt. They were moist and juicy and held up pretty well. I also sprayed them with a little pam before putting them on the grill and they didnt stick.

I only gave 4 stars because I felt it needed a little more something so I added garlic and it was great.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
I have been using this recipe for quite some time now and I am not allowed to make tacos with regular store bought stuff anymore. For more of a smokey flavor and kick I add a tablespoon of chipotele powder as well. I also just salt to taste and usually add more garlic :)

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
I dont really care for sweet potato pie but apparently I wasnt eating the right ones. This one was very very good. I didnt give it 5 because I think the changes that others suggested made it better. I baked the potatos instead of boiling. I split the sugar to 1/2 white 1/2 brown. Added 1 tsp ginger 1 tsp lemon and a little extra nutmeg and cinnimon. It set up nice had no texture issues

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
I used granny smith apples to add some tart to the sweet and it turned out very well. I added extra vanilla not sure how much cause i just poured some in. Added 1/2 tsp cinnimon, 1/2 allspice to the topping and also tossed the apples with cinnimon and allspice before i poured the syrup on top. Also put all the crisp on the top and used the smaller pan. 5 stars with the changes I made. It is very sweet and goes well with ice cream. **EDIT** I served the crisp to my 93 year old grandparents the next day and the LOVED it. It was just what my grandma wanted.

Very good very rich. Those that said it was cakey must have over cooked them. Mine were very fudgy. Went very well with vanilla ice cream while still warm from the oven!

Black Bean and Corn Quesadillas

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
This recipe as is didnt have enough flavor for me so i added some cumin, garlic and a little salt. Also cut the brown sugar way down. I suggest you add a little, taste a little until its to the sweetness you like. Four stars because it really needed the extra spice for my family.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
So I only gave 4 stars because of the additions i made to the sauce and the meatballs. Even with the additons to the meatballs they still tasted a little to burgerish. Next time I will cut the hamburger with a little zesty sausage. The sauce unmodified was actually good but not as spicy as we liked it to be so I added italian type seasonings and it was very yummy. I also pureed half the recipe and used all diced tomatos. Made it a lot smoother but with some chunks

Chipotle Crusted Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: May 24, 2008
This was VERY GOOD! Like another reviewer suggested I put them in pineapple juice with some brown sugar, cumin, onion and garlic powder and let them sit for a few hours. Then I mixed the rub but only used 2 tablespoons of mccormac chipolte pepper. I used 2 tsp of garlic and onion 5 tbls of brown sugar and threw in some cumin. Let them sit with the rub for several hours and then grilled them. Use indirect heat on the grill or you will badly burn the brown sugar!

It was pretty good but not great.. the second time I made this i cut the Worcestershire down to 2 tablespoons and upped the brown sugar and the pinapple juice to a cup because I like the extra sweetness..i also added a little cornstarch to thickin it up and poured half of it on the chicken about halfway through baking which turned it into a very nice glaze!
