Asparagus Side Dish

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
This was a great recipe - dinner guests loved it. The tomatos added such great color to this dish. I did hit the Asparagus with some sea salt and fresh ground black pepper. Will definitely make again.

Manicotti Alla Romana

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
Excellent recipe. My dinner guests loved it. I used turkey sausage in the recipe rather than beef. Not one serving of manicotti was left. Thanks for the great recipe - the extra work was worth it.

Mom's Best Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
I followed this direction exactly as directed and was disappointed. I ended up throwing the sauce out. It was bland and tasted like canned tomatoes. I probably could have saved it with additional spices - but didn't have time before the dinner party to continue to experiment.

Greek Veggie Salad II

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
Very tasty salad! I ended up just using the baby greens and not the romaine. The dressing is fantastic. All my guests loved it. As good as the Greek restaurant here in town! Thank you.

Broiled Scallops

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
Very good, yet mild. If you have very fresh, wonderful scallops and you want their mild taste to shine through, this is the dish for you.

Salmon Puffs

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
These appetizers were quite tasty and were quite 'fancy' looking. I had quite a bit of leftover 'stuffing' for the puff pastry. I think I could have halved the stuffing (smoked salmon, etc.) and been great. Would make again.

Lite Quick Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
Don't let the simplicity of this recipe fool you - it is quick, easy & fantastic! The trick is to really dress this dish up through a fancy presentation - pipe a little extra whipped topping on top and add some chocolate shavings - served in individual glass dishes. Might also be good to serve layered in glasses w/ whipped topping in between.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2006
These cookies are absolutely wonderful if you like ultra moist chocolate chip cookies. Only word of caution - this recipe makes a HUGE batch (72 servings). Don't start this recipe like I did @ 9 p.m. - you'll be baking cookies for hours! Thanks for the great recipe.

Baked Ravioli

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2005
Very tasty! Wonderful red sauce recipe that I will definitely use for other things. I put the red sauce in the blender to puree it smooth. Wonderful 'zing' and very kid friendly recipe.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2005
This is a great recipe - definitely a keeper. Brownies are quite decadent and taste/look almost 'gourmet' with a grown-up taste. Thanks for a great recipe.

Baked Orange Roughy Italian-Style

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2005
EXCELLENT orange roughy recipe! This recipe would probably work well for practically any white fish. I made it for dinner guests (parents & gma) who are not very adventurous when it comes to trying anything other than 'meat' and 'potatoes'. They loved it. There wasn't a single bite leftover. Only change I made: used more romano cheese than called for.

Broccoli Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2005
This was a very tasty recipe, my dinner guests all thought it was very good. This recipe DOES make a large amount. Since the only meat we eat is fish - I substituted 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup instead of the cream of chicken soup. I also used and extra 3/4 cup of rice which made the casserole a nice, thicker consistency. Leftovers the next day were almost even better!

Apple Walnut Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2005
This salad was WONDERFUL and will definitely make again. My picky dinner guests (parents) loved it as well. The only change I made was to reduce the amount of onion based upon feedback from other reviews. Next time, I will cut up the apples in to smaller pieces (rather than wedges) and I will soak them in a lemon/water bath to keep them from turning brown.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2004
These were AMAZING! I took them to work and they were gone within minutes. Don't rush them - really let them rise so that they get really really big. Thank you for the great recipe! Wouldn't change a thing.

Bread Machine Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2004
This recipe is GREAT! I made them for a small dinner party and they were perfect. They turned out just like the picture on the website (for once). Would definitely make again - with no changes to the recipe. Only comment: Length of time to make them. The recipe says 1 hour, 35 minutes - but the dough cycle on my bread machine is 1 hour, 30 minutes alone - not including the prep time and the time it takes to rise a second time and bake. If your bread machine is the same way, plan on some additional time. Thanks for a great recipe!

Cherry Pie III

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2004
I made this for my dad for father's day. Cherry pie is his favorite - and he is quite the critic. Dad LOVED this cherry pie. He said that it was a very close rival to his mother's cherry pie. Quite a compliment! I could not find fresh sour cherries, so I did use 2 cans of cherry pie filling. I still cooked the filling with butter and almond extra extract, but only used half the sugar (3/4 c.). The crust turned out excellent. I created a lattice top and sprinkled it lightly with sugar and cinnamon. It was wonderful. I did try to prebake the bottom crust for 10 minutes - (got a little stuck to the foil I laid over it) - so next time, I'll skip trying to prebake the crust. Thanks for a great recipe - will be making again!

Awesome Bow Tie Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2003
This was a really nice cold pasta salad. I did read the reviews from others - and would HIGHLY recommend using only half of the balsamic vinagrette that is called for - possibly even less than 1/4 cup. I also added some chopped fresh basil. Very good, will definitely make again.
