About this Cook
I am a military brat, so I don't have a home town.I a former military member myself and spouse of a former military member. I enjoy baking and I cook nearly as well as I bake.
My favorite things to cook
Pretty much anything chocolate!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love going to restaurants with my family and trying to replicate the recipes at home.
My cooking triumphs
I make a carrot cake that everyone requests.
My cooking tragedies
I made this lemon chicken and followed the reciped exactly as written even though I knew it called for too much liquid and the meal was horrible. Mushy rice and the lemon flavor was overwhelming.

Authentic German Potato Salad
i just made this and the only thing i changed was the amount of sugar. i erred on the side of caution and only used 2 tbsp of sugar and it was still too sweet. my suggestion would be to make the sauce without the sugar and add the sugar to your liking

Jam Filled Butter Cookies
I agree with other reviewers, the dough is very crumbly. I doubled the batch and made these changes I added 1/4 cup sour cream, 1 tsp salt & cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp of nutmeg and increased the sugar to 1 and 1/4 cups.

Honey Whole Wheat Bread
This bread is wonderful. It came out very light and delicious. The only thing I did was decrease the white flour by 1/2 c and increase the wheat by 1/2 c and the salt to 1 tsp. Other than that no changes are needed. Great bread.
