Best Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
I have made these a few times and even my husband who does not like sweets will eat these. I did take some others advice and omitt the baking powder and added a bit more of the cocoa, and I also leave off the icing. Watch the baking time, that is the key to a moist, gooey brownie.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
I will give this 4 starts because it was very easy and did have a nice flavor. But as for "knock your socks off" flavor it still tasted like a potroast cooked with mushroom soup.

Spaghetti Pie III

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
We thought this was okay. It had way to many noodles and not alot of flavor.

Easy Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
This is a good and easy weeknight dinner. I do add a bit of garlic and I also use less of the noodles. If not it tends to be dry and all you can taste is the noodles.

Southern-Style Meat Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
This is a great base sauce....... I sauteed up onion and fresh mushrooms with garlic. Then browned a combo of sasauge and ground beef together. I used a large can of crushed tomatoes with basil and one can of tomato paste. I did scale down the oregano and basil and added fresh rosemary. I used some others advice and subsituted brown sugar for the white. I let is simmer for about 3 hours. It had a great taste and didn't make a hugh amount for our small family of 3.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2007
This was so good and easy. I used a can of black beans, diced tomatoes, and followed others and placed the chicken in frozen. It cooked up so nicely and was a great soup on cold winter night. Served with corn bread and a dollop of sour cream.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
These are so good. They are light and fluffy and have a good taste. If the batter looks too thick just add a bit more milk.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2006
This was a great alternative to the usual "green bean" casserole. I made it for Thanksgiving and Christmas and got compliments both times. I did add the fried onions on top to keep with the traditional look. This will be my new traditional dish to serve at holiday meals.

Cheesy Potato and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2006
This was a very easy and quick recipe to prepare. I used sharp cheddar chesse instead of the velvetta, and added a couple tablespoons of sour cream. It was very tasty and the whole family loved it! Great for a cold winter night when you want some hot soup but don't want to spend all day cooking.

Easy Turkey Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
This was acutally good and a great way to use up left over turkey. I used fresh sauteed mushrooms with some onions. I topped it off with ceddar cheese but I think next time I will use less egg noodles because it seemed a little dry once it was baked. I think this would also be good with chicken for a quick week night meal.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
This was so tasty and easy, and everyone love the flavor. I followed the recipe as directed except I did not add the mushrooms, or the marjoram. Just a little tip to avoid the stuffing from sticking to the crockpot spray it down with some pam before adding the stuffing. It makes clean up so easy!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
This in one of the best recipes for oatmeal rasin cookies I have tried. Keep to the original recipe and you will not be disappointed. They had a great flavor and stayed moist and soft after they cooled. Even after I over baked a batch.

Cucumber Sandwich

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2006
This was good, not fantastic. I thought some of the ingredients didn't go well together (cream cheese and avacoado). I think next time I might add some turkey to see if it gives it some more flavor and play around with the ingredients.

Home-Fried Potatoes

This was a good, basic recipe not requiring alot of ingredients. Make sure you add plenty of salt, pepper, garlic powder as they cook or they tend to be a little bland.

Chicken Bake and Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2006
This recipe was suprisingly good and easy. I was a little afraid it would taste to much like cream of mushroom soup but it all cooked together into a nice sauce. I used the roasted garlic cream of mushroom soup, and chicken broth. The cream cheese seemed a little chunky so next time I think I might melt it in the microwave to make it smooth. I would recommend this for the great taste and the little effort.

Baja Stuffed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2006
I didn't have the time to re-stuff the potatoes so I baked 3 potatoes and then scooped them out. I mixed the potatoes with the sour cream, some butter, garlic salt, pepper, 1 can of green chiles, some onion, 1 can of corn (dranined), and some cheddar cheese. I put it in a buttered casserole dish and put it in oven for about 20 min unitl it was warmed. It was a nice twist to potatoes, and was an easy casserole alternative.

New Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2006
This was good but I did make a few modifications: Ommitted the milk and eggs (hubby dosen't like them), used 1 cup of mayo, some bread and butter pickle juice, 1TBS of vinegar, and some garlic powder. It was a nice basic potato salad recipe and had a nice flavor that was not over powering. Great for a cookout since it is not your typical mayo and mustard salad.
