About this Cook
I have decorated cakes professionally for about 20 years. Four grown sons and 6 grandchildren. I am married to Mr. Wonderful and laugh when my girlfriends want to borrow him for a day or weekend to help them do chores around their house. Like the song says"I'd do it all over again".
My favorite things to cook
Cakes, Cakes, Cakes.....any type of cake, large small, decorated for every occasion in beautiful and wierd styles. I love canning jelly in the summer from our berry bushes and use it in my gift baskets.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year on Christmas Eve I make homemade Chicken and Noodles, just like my Grandmother and Mom used to do. PLUS my seafood chowder.... I think I spend 3 weeks cooking and getting things together to cook and bake for Christmas Eve. Always a very busy time.
My cooking triumphs
My super Rum Cake and Seafood Chowder + I did a 150 pg.cookbook 10 yrs ago called the Apple Farmer's Daughter, it was supposed to be just for family members as a Christmas gift, but I ended up selling about 200 to co-workers and friends also. I've won many awards for my cake decorating.
My cooking tragedies
MANY years ago, I had not cooked very much seafood and I tried to batter and deep fry small shrimp. My boys still remember my "bubble gum shrimp" The shrimp were so overcooked that they chewed like bubble gum.. really tough!!!!

Chicago-Style Pan Pizza
I followed the suggestions, I used the 14" pizza pan with the holes on the bottom, let the cheese air dry for 6 hours in frig., and added more toppings, green pepper& pepperoni and didn't use the fennel seed, but 1/2 teas. Italian seasoning. This tastes so GREAT and much cheaper than our local pizza place charging us 27.50 for one than is not as good.

Bread Machine Pizza Dough
This recipe is fantastic! I tried it on my 4 grown sons and their families and got rave reviews on the crust and toppings too. I added a 3/4 tsp of italian seasoning to the crust and 1/2 tsp of garlic powder before mixing started. I precooked all the meat, (sausage, chicken and bacon), with the exception of the pepperoni of course and added tons of different toppings to the two pizzas I made. I pre-baked the crust 8 minutes, added the toppings and baked another 12 minutes.....UHMMMMM, the best part though was the crust. I will make this again and again, it has become the family favorite!

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler
Outstanding recipe, everyone raved at the scumptous taste of this fresh homemade cobbler at our family picnic. I did not change anything on recipe, but I wish I would have tripled it instead of just doubling it, as there was not one mouthful left.
