Tiramisu II
My closest group of friends and I planned a progressive dinner party on New Year's Eve. My family was responsible for dessert. I know tiramisu is not a "favorite". It's more of an acquired taste. I planned on making at least t desserts though, so I wasn't concerned about having tiramisu as one of the options. Besides, I have been dying to make MY FAVORITE dessert (tiramisu). I read well over 60 reviews from others who have previously made this dessert. I was a tad nervous, but built up the courage to just do it. This was by far the best tiramisu I have ever tasted... I mean it.... EVER! If you follow the directions verbatim, you won't be disappointed. Some of the ingredients were tricky to find, but my local grocery store (Kroger) had them all. Here are a few of my suggestions: 1. USE THE SOFT FINGERS and 2. DOUBLE the rum/coffee mixture if not triple it. The fingers, in my grocery store, were in the bakery section where the specialty things are like canoli shells. The marscapone cheese was also in the bakery/specialty cheese section. Just hard to spot, but it's there. Don't leave the store thinking they don't have it. ASK FOR IT. I haven't tried NOT refrigerating the yolk/milk mixture before mixing with the cheese mixture. My guess is... it's fine and like another reviewer said, easier to blend the cheese mixture into because the cheese is stiff, but I wanted to follow it to a "T". I feasted off of this dessert for days and days. Feel free to contact me w ?
