Italian Style Flounder

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
This makes for an awesome low-fat, low-calorie dinner. There is a lot of flavor present and it has become the preferred way to prepare flounder at my house.

Mom's Great Green Beans

These were ok. The flavor was subtle. Probably too subtle to go through the hassle of soaking the buillion and such.

Amazing Southwest Cilantro Lime Mango Grilled Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
This dish has an amazing flavor, but I agree with others who say that the recipe is a bit too complicated. It was not too difficult to make, but the steps here were unnecessary. I prefer to do a lot of my cooking in the skillet, which is usually a fine substitution for the grill. I chose to put my mango in the salsa, which turned out great. I will proabably make this again, but it's not likely to make it into the usual rotation.

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
This is a weekly favorite at my house. We use a thin top sirloin instead of the round steak. We usually skip the garlic mayo; it's not really a must for us. We like our food quite a bit spicier, so I add jalapenos to cook with the vegetables. I cook the meat with some soy sauce and a hot sauce mixture. I always cook the vegetables first and then add them to the meat once it is almost done. This way the vegetables absorb some of the flavor and the meat does not get overcooked. You can also change it up and substitute shredded chicken for the steak. Yummy!

Real Homemade Tamales

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
These turned out great! I was a little anxious, but the Mexicans that work with my boyfriend said they were spot on. Like many of the others, I added ancho chili powder, chipotle chili powder, and cumin. It still was not quite spicy enough for my taste, so I will probably use spicier peppers the next time. I cooked a pork tenderloin overnight in a crock pot on low heat, which turned out to be perfect. I bought a tamale steamer and they were done after about an hour and 15 minutes. My only complaint is that I don't care for using lard. I will probably substitute it the next time. Thanks for the recipe!

Veronica's Hot Spinach, Artichoke and Chile Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2011
I couldn't have asked for a more flavorful spinach/artichoke dip. My family absolutely couldn't get enough of it. Like some of the other reviewers, I substituted sour cream for the mayonnaise. In the future, I will likely add more hot peppers to the recipe. We love spicy food and eat it frequently, so our tolerances are quite high.
