Crispy Chocolate Log

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2009
Love these. Made as written first time and thought they were great. Second time used the same size pan but made one and half times the recipe (15 servings) and rolled them from the long way. Press them down hard before adding the chocolate and then you will get the pretty "swirl"

Baked Brunch Omelet

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
Excellent!. I took this to a church breakfast and brought home an empty pan. Several ladies told me how pretty it looked. I made it with the ingredients as written. Mixed it up the night before then baked it covered for 40 minutes then uncovered 20 more. I didn't use the water bath but baked it in a heavy ceramic lasagna dish. I will be making this a lot.

This turned out great for me! Followed the recipe to the letter. Med heat, real butter and real chocolate chips. MMMMM I wont be buying any expensive toffee this Christmas. Thanks for a great recipe.

Dill Dip III

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
This recipe is super yummy. My family likes it on top of sliced cucumbers. I did cut down on the season salt. Used 1 1/2 teaspoons and it turned out just right for us. My advice is to start with a little then after it sets, taste it, and add more if you like. This is definitely a must try recipe.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
This recipe is good and i will make it again. Not "the best" for a 5 star rating but it is easy. I cooked the dumplings for an hour and they were done.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2008
These baked up perfectly. I used lemon extract instead of vanilla. This is the best rolled sugar cookie recipe i've used.

Peanut Butter Balls III

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
These are so good. Dipped them in chocolate almond bark then melted some white almond bark in a small sandwich bag, snipped a tiny bit off the tip and put fancy little lines across each one. Then set each one in a mini baking cup before giving as gifts. Looks beautiful and tastes even better.

Microwave Spiced Nuts

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
This are very good and so simple. I've made them twice now. The first time was as written. The second time i toasted the nuts first, left out the nutmeg, upped the cinnamon to 2 tsp and added 1/2 tsp salt. That made them just the way we like them. Oh, and discovered that if you over cook them (that was 5 minutes in my microwave) they turn out more like a hard glaze then sugared.

Vodka Slush

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2007
OH.....MY.....GOSH. This is yummy. Made as written except didn't have instant tea so used 3 tea bags. I used pink lemonade. Oh, and threw in an extra half cup of vodka to empty the bottle. This recipe will nearly fill an ice cream bucket to freeze it in.

Peanut Butter Balls VII

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2007
These tasted great but oozed into blobs instead of staying round. I chilled the dough for several hours before rolling but as soon as it touched our warm hands they turned to goo. I used creamy Jiff. Maybe a different peanut butter would work better?

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

We really liked this recipe only all the brown sugar didn't dissolve. I am going to try it again. Maybe dissolve the sugar some before putting on the fruit and mix.

Thin Mint Crackers

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2007
We all loved these. When i went to the baking section to buy the bitter sweet chocolate I discovered a package of Andes baking chips. I melted these slowly in the microwave and dipped the crackers in that. Talk about easy.

Coconut Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2007
This is excellent! Top it with a little hot fudge sauce and it tastes like a mounds bar. I didn't use the toasted coconut because we prefer our ice cream smooth but i did add half a tsp. of coconut extract.

Cornbread Salad

Reviewed: May 10, 2007
Awesome. I make this whenever i want to wow people. I Layer it in a trifle bowl as written with the exceptions of... I don't add any of the seasoning to the cornbread (there's enough flavor without) I add some chopped red peppers (because they are pretty in the trifle bowl) and use 2 cups of bottled Ranch dressing. This has been a hit every time.

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2007
This is awesome. I used pork sirloins since they were on sale and red Hawaiian sea salt I found on eBay.I don't usually care for pork because it can have a strong taste but this is excellent. It's so good I'm making this into sandwiches for my son's graduation party.
