Southern Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2012
I made these tonight. They were very good! My 84 year old Mother even ate seconds, which is rare because she is SO picky. I forgot the vanilla, but will definitely make these again (& add vanilla) since they are so easy & good.

This is the first time I have tried couscous & it was so bland, I decided to quickly look up a recipe to spice it up. I found this one & tried it. It is fast, easy & delicious!! Half the family loved it, the other half not so much. But I thought it rocked!!!

Easy Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
I was looking for a quick, easy & delicious meal to make with the chicken I had thawed out last night & came up on this. I had all the ingredients on hand except for broccoli, which was okay since I subbed green peas. I followed the directions & it turned out awesome. So tasty & easy too. My 14 year old grandson asked me what made me such a good cook! I was thrilled!! I will be making this again & again. Thanks for sharing...

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2013
The chili covered burrito was one of my favorites at a place I used to go so I had to try this. We absolutely loved it. My grown son said it was better than anything he'd ever eaten at any Mexican restaurant! I followed the recipe exactly as written except I put the lettuce & tomato on the plate after heating the sauce covered burrito with cheese in the microwave. Also added a dollop of sour cream. Everyone loved it & I'll definitely be making it again.

Get a Husband Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2013
OMG this is awesome!! Only changes I made were using 3 lbs of shredded chicken breast, & 1 cup of bbq sauce. My whole family loved this. It made so much we froze the leftovers. It is better the 2nd day. Oh so good!!! Freezes very well, but won't last long!

Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2013
I found this recipe today & cooked it for dinner. I had most of the ingredients on hand. I substituted milk for cream, and left out the beef bullion cube since I was out. I did not add the olive oil since I thought the ground beef drippings would do the trick. We loved this recipe. It was so tasty! I will fix this again. I think next time since it is very crumbly, I will line muffin tins with loaf bread, toast the bread & add this mixture to them. Thanks for an awesome recipe!

This recipe is awesome! I did use slices of colby jack cheese instead of shredded. Also great on a bun.

Fruitcake Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2013
I LOVE this recipe!!! Last year I made it but cut the ingredients in half, and it still made 72 cookies. This year I bought enough ingredients to make a full batch!! These are the best!! The only change I made was to buy mixed candied fruit instead of just using cherries & pineapple. The only advice I have for those making this for the first time, is to use an extra large bowl to coat the fruit in flour, and after you mix the other ingredients, pour the dough into the bowl with the fruit. It is easy to cut in the dough if you use a butter knife. Much easier to mix than with a spoon. I used a gigantic Tupperware bowl with a lid. Be sure to follow all instructions & don't leave out any ingredients. These were the best cookies ever!! Thank you, Mary Lou!! I am sending some to family out of town & these will be on my must have list every year!!

Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2012
I made these cookies today with my 3 year old granddaughter. They turned out excellent. Followed the recipe exactly except I used 1/2 c butter & 1/4 c shortening since I didn't have the butter flavored shortening. These won't last long around my house so I went ahead & put some in the freezer for Christmas. Thanks for a great recipe!

Mini Cheesecakes

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2013
I have made these several times & absolutely love them! I use regular size muffin pans & line with the foil & paper liners. I crush the vanilla wafers, then melt about 1/4 cup butter and put a teaspoonful over the crushed wafers. I add about 1 tsp of lemon juice to the main mixture. These are so easy & delicious!! Sometimes I add chocolate morsels, or a morsel mixture to the batter, sometimes, I just add a topping. Anyway you top them, they are awesome!!!

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2013
Love this recipe. It is a little basic, so I did as another reviewer suggested, and added a bit more Italian spice and spaghetti sauce & mozzarella cheese after 20 min in the oven. Served over spaghetti. I also used the recipe to bake pork chops (just left out the Parmesan because I was out). YUM!!

Coconut Cream Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
I made this cake last night & served it today for a birthday party for my Mom. She loved it! My only changes were to the frosting: 1 tbls milk & 1 tbls coconut cream, & I added 1 tsp coconut extract as well as the vanilla. I had to add a couple of tablespoons of butter since I only had two 3oz pkgs of cream cheese. Everyone LOVED this cake & its so easy to make. It should be called, Easy coconut cake. I will be using this recipe for a long time. Thanks for submitting it.

Pork Tenderloin with Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2013
My whole family loved this recipe (including my 85 yr old Mom who is very picky). I followed the recipe exactly as written. I marinated the pork loin for about 20 hours, and made the mustard sauce the day before also. The mustard sauce was bitter by itself, but awesome on the pork! Thanks for a terrific recipe, I have already had a request for it.
