Coconut Cream Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
I made this cake last night & served it today for a birthday party for my Mom. She loved it! My only changes were to the frosting: 1 tbls milk & 1 tbls coconut cream, & I added 1 tsp coconut extract as well as the vanilla. I had to add a couple of tablespoons of butter since I only had two 3oz pkgs of cream cheese. Everyone LOVED this cake & its so easy to make. It should be called, Easy coconut cake. I will be using this recipe for a long time. Thanks for submitting it.

Baked Soy Lemon Chops

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe. I have prepared it at least 6 times since I got it a few months ago. I especially love it with pork loin, too. I made it exactly as written. My whole family loves this, & I served it to guests last week & have been asked for the recipe. Awesome flavor!

Easy Streusel Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2012
I made this recipe a few days ago. I had a box of yellow cake mix & wanted to use it to make something. I was disappointed in the cake overall. It tasted like a box cake mix. I was hoping all the other ingredients would make it taste homemade, but they didn't. The family seemed to like it though.

This is a great recipe. I've been making it for over 30 years!! My kids grew up with it. It's definitely sweet enough for dessert too, just pour into a couple of pie shells.

Old Fashioned Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2012
I have made this recipe numerous times & love it. I do add the cheeses into the cream mixture. Makes it much simpler than layering. I also take off the alum foil about 10 minutes before its done to brown the edges. I like sliced tomatoes on top too. My family loves it, thanks so much for sharing.

Easy Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2012
I have made this recipe many times. It is awesome! I have made as it was written, and I have used chicken instead of ham, frozen spinach instead of broccoli. My favorite is using spinach with whatever meat is available. It would also be good using bacon. It is so easy, and delicious. We have it for dinner about once a month.

Southern Candied Sweet Potatoes

I made these tonight. They were very good! My 84 year old Mother even ate seconds, which is rare because she is SO picky. I forgot the vanilla, but will definitely make these again (& add vanilla) since they are so easy & good.

Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2012
I made these cookies today with my 3 year old granddaughter. They turned out excellent. Followed the recipe exactly except I used 1/2 c butter & 1/4 c shortening since I didn't have the butter flavored shortening. These won't last long around my house so I went ahead & put some in the freezer for Christmas. Thanks for a great recipe!

Flourless Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2013
I took the advice of others & used 8 oz of semi sweet chocolate & left out the cocoa. Melted the butter & choc in the microwave in a 4 cup measuring cup & mixed in the other ingredients. Baked in a 9" cake pan at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. I greased & floured with cocoa & had no stick issues. I couldn't wait 10 minutes. I flipped it out of the pan after 5 minutes. I think I could have cooked for 5 more minutes as it was slightly gooey in places, but overall, it was awesome! Served with vanilla ice cream & a small amount of chocolate syrup. YUMMY!!!

Pork Tenderloin with Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2013
My whole family loved this recipe (including my 85 yr old Mom who is very picky). I followed the recipe exactly as written. I marinated the pork loin for about 20 hours, and made the mustard sauce the day before also. The mustard sauce was bitter by itself, but awesome on the pork! Thanks for a terrific recipe, I have already had a request for it.

Fruitcake Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2013
I LOVE this recipe!!! Last year I made it but cut the ingredients in half, and it still made 72 cookies. This year I bought enough ingredients to make a full batch!! These are the best!! The only change I made was to buy mixed candied fruit instead of just using cherries & pineapple. The only advice I have for those making this for the first time, is to use an extra large bowl to coat the fruit in flour, and after you mix the other ingredients, pour the dough into the bowl with the fruit. It is easy to cut in the dough if you use a butter knife. Much easier to mix than with a spoon. I used a gigantic Tupperware bowl with a lid. Be sure to follow all instructions & don't leave out any ingredients. These were the best cookies ever!! Thank you, Mary Lou!! I am sending some to family out of town & these will be on my must have list every year!!

Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2013
I found this recipe today & cooked it for dinner. I had most of the ingredients on hand. I substituted milk for cream, and left out the beef bullion cube since I was out. I did not add the olive oil since I thought the ground beef drippings would do the trick. We loved this recipe. It was so tasty! I will fix this again. I think next time since it is very crumbly, I will line muffin tins with loaf bread, toast the bread & add this mixture to them. Thanks for an awesome recipe!

OMG this is awesome!! Only changes I made were using 3 lbs of shredded chicken breast, & 1 cup of bbq sauce. My whole family loved this. It made so much we froze the leftovers. It is better the 2nd day. Oh so good!!! Freezes very well, but won't last long!

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2013
The chili covered burrito was one of my favorites at a place I used to go so I had to try this. We absolutely loved it. My grown son said it was better than anything he'd ever eaten at any Mexican restaurant! I followed the recipe exactly as written except I put the lettuce & tomato on the plate after heating the sauce covered burrito with cheese in the microwave. Also added a dollop of sour cream. Everyone loved it & I'll definitely be making it again.
