Mediterranean Quinoa Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2013
Holy cow, this is excellent! I used slightly less lemon juice based on other reviews, no salt and more olives. I also added cherry tomatoes on a lark. I like it better hot than cold but if you do what I did and add the cherry tomatoes, wait awhile after you microwave it to bite into one.

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
Holy cow this might be my new favorite soup!!! I followed the recipe to the letter but I did add about 5 oz. browned ground beef just for some extra texture and protein.

Super Hot and Sour Shrimp Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
Love the base. Surprised at how complex the flavors are. I personally like my soup to eat like a meal so I added bean sprouts, carrots, celery and 7oz rice noodles. Since I added so much extra I also added 8 more cups of water/lobster stock.

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
Fabulous flavor! This recipe makes A LOT so next time I could probably get by with half of it. I also will probably add some more veggies next time but it's also great just the way it is.

Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
I am giving this 3 stars with promise. I intend to add a lot more next time to give this the texture and taste I'd prefer. 1) add chopped onion, chopped red pepper, a bag of fresh spinach, garlic, red pepper flakes and Italian seasoning. 2) add more meat - spicy Italian sausage was great but will go with 2 lbs versus 1. 3)definitely DO NOT use no-boil noodles. They were incredibly soggy. Flavor was great and recipe was easy but the texture of the noodles was like paste.

Shoyu Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
Baked mine in the oven instead - turned out excellent. There was nothing spicy about this dish at all even with the red pepper flakes and the cayenne so fear not. Served mine the way we got it in Maui with some of the drippings poured over white rice. Excellent!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
This recipe is so simple! I love it but I had to add cumin, a bit of season salt, red pepper flakes, white pepper and garlic because it was too bland for my taste. I did not measure any of the above, just to taste.

Black Bean and Salsa Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2012
I love this recipe - tasty, quick and cheap! I tried several ways to tweak it to make it better and the only way that has worked for my palate is to lose the sour cream but add a can of drained sweet corn when it's on the stove. Adds a bit more flavor and texture.
