Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2003
This is a yummy recipe! My husband was really impressed. However I had two concerns...it only took about 7 minutes before all the liquid was absorbed. Do not leave it unattended on the stove or it might scorch. Also, this must be served immediately or it gets very clumpy and hard to spoon out of the pan. I added a little olive oil and kept the heat on low and it helped this a bit. Overall this is a great side dish and a big hit with the family. I will cook it again soon. Thanks!

Baked Sweet Potatoes with Ginger and Honey

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2003
I've made this recipe several times, and now I'm making it again for Thanksgiving. If your in a hurry try par-boiling the potatoes, draining, and then mixing in the spices and honey. I tried this and it works out great. Also, I substituted veggie oil for the walnut oil because I don’t usually have it. Thanks!!

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2003
This is a wonderful recipe! I used the original recipe first, then I tried it with grapeseed oil instead of olive oil and it was even better! Thanks!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
I was a little disappointed by this recipe. Way too much topping, and it really wasn't that cheesy. It had a pretty good flavor once you got though all the topping, but it was lacking something. I won't be making this one again.

Coconut Orange Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
Pretty good cupcake/muffin. The orange flavor wasn't prominent enough for me - I may try to add some orange zest next time. Also, I had a lot of topping leftover.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2010
Lordy, Lordy! Best cornbread that I have EVER made! Followed the recipe exactly as written. I lightly mixed after adding the flour/cornmeal. I think that is really the ticket. Well, that and all the butter and sugar. Wooooo!

Grilled Chicken Burgers

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2010
Great! Loved by the kids and adults! I used a tablespoon or so of chicken broth while sauteing the veggies, just because they were a little too dry with just the cooking spray. We will definitely add these to the rotation! Thank you!
