Popcorn was delicious! Definetly put 3 kernels in as your oil heats, once they are popped add the popcorn and sprinkle the sugar. No need to premelt the sugar. It gives it too much time to carmelize and may result in a burnt end result. Also the 3 seconds on the burner 3 seconds of shaking works well(and keeps my ceramic top stove from getting scratched up). Hard to mess this recipe up. The people experiencing the burnt popcorn and too many unpopped kernels probably have the heat too high(or low) during popping.
