Oven Fried Potatoes II

What a nice healthy alternative to the fried potatoes. Used grapeseed oil instead of vegetable...My husband said he would rather have them prepared this way. :)...Thanks for sharing.

Strawberry Pie II

Reviewed: May 14, 2010
Very good recipe. I made a couple of modifications. I used more strawberries (2 qt) we like them mounded on pie. I reduced the water to 1/2 cup and used 2T flour instead of cornstarch boiled 2 minutes. Added a dollop of butter to the warm filling. YUMMY! Thanks for sharing. Thanks for a good recipe.

Biscuit Baking Mix

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
Great in a pinch. I was out of milk and found a sourcream recipe and needed the baking mix to go in it and found this one. Cut the servings to 1 used wheat and white flour, added 1T butter and 1/3+ cup sour cream cooked 14 min 425 degrees....YUMMY and soft. Made 6 small biscuits. Great with melted butter and honey. This just might become my way of making biscuits! Thanks for sharing.

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
These are really tasty! A great alternative to deep frying. I used the chili powder and one tablespoon of homemade seasoning similar to lawrys which has all the ingredients + salt and sugar. I did broil them at the end to crisp them more. They were gone! Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
Easy, Quick, and yummy! I baked in the oven 385 degrees about 40 min. Turned a couple of times. Turned out nice and tender. I used a little of the basting juice in the rice I served as a side. It made a delicious dinner. It's now in our favorites cookbook. Thanks for the recipe.

Amazingly Good Eggnog

This tasted great! I do agree with Patty that it took a little longer to prepare. I also added the hot mixture to the eggs very slowly stiring rapidly and had no curdling. Thanks for sharing!

David's Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
This is a great yellow cake recipe. My husband and son raved about it. Because of the addition of high fructose syrup I don't use boxes anymore! I use organic eggs and didn't want to use 8 so I used the whole egg and used 2 1/2 eggs. I could have used one more. It was topped with a basic chocolate icing. NOTE: I read some reviews that were not happy with the outcome of the recipe...It is important to mix the butter and sugar well. Then add the eggs ONE at a time and mix batter very well between eggs. Also always start and end with the flour when adding the milk and flour again mixing well after each..This may take several minutes and is a little more work but you will have a better cake :) Recipe is a keeper! Thanks again David!

Homemade Barbecue Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
This sauce is okay but not really barbecue sauce. It was too ketchup tasting so I added some cayenne pepper vinegar molasses and garlic powder and tried cooking it. It still was an overpowering ketchup taste.

Fabulous Homemade Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
E*X*C*E*L*L*E*N*T. I made mine in the bread machine. I just do not do well at hand bread kneading! Anyway, I scaled the recipe to 12 servings to make 1 loaf. I put the warm water, sugar, bread flour and yeast in the bread machine mixed it together and let it grow as the recipe says. While it was growing, I mixed the oats, warm water whole wheat flour, salt, sugar and oil together and poured it into the machine on top of the growing yeast. I added the flour on top of that. Put the machine on the dough cycle. My machine not only mixes but lets it do the first rise. Then I shaped into a loaf and put into a 9x5 bread pan and let it do a second rise another 45 min. Unlike some of the other reviews this made a huge loaf of bread for me. It taste very good. Love this recipe and so does my family! This one won't get lost in a drawer~it will make my recipe book of Recipes worth Keeping.
