My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking pies with my mom when I was a child; cooking "Soup Sundays" with my husband and kids where everyone pitches in; teaching my boys how to cook and garden; picking up farm fresh produce from Michigan's orchards and farm markets and turning it into something special for my family - we especially love u-pick fruit farms!
My cooking triumphs
Mastered my grandmother's peanut brittle recipe. Even my Uncle said it tasted just like Grandma's. Also seeing the smile on someone's face when they take that first bite of a well prepared meal.
My cooking tragedies
In the process of mastering my grandmother's peanut brittle...burned the sugar in the first batch, the peanuts in the second and my fingers in the third (but that batch did turn out).
