Best Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2004
Definitely the best brownies I have made from scratch. I followed the recipe exactly and used an oval corningware dish to bake it in. I love it with icing and without. My husband loved them too and he has never liked "from scratch" brownies before. Thanks for the great recipe!!

Cream Cheese Brownies III

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2004
Wow...these were so good that I had to throw them out. I made the mistake of making them while my husband was at work and I couldn't keep my hands from reaching in for another one. I finally had to throw them away for the sake of my hips!! I am not kidding!

Pollo Fajitas

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2004
Really good. Didn't have the pepper sauce on hand, so left it out...and I thought they were great, but I will buy some pepper sauce for next time. It would be even better with a little heat! Bye bye fajita seasoning packets!

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2004
This was pretty good. One suggestion: cut down on the rice just a little so that you only have to open one can of chicken broth (if you don't make your own). I think it would be even better because then there would be less rice and more seasonings. Overall a good recipe and I will keep working with it.

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2004
This really was good. I think next time I will pound the chicken a little so that it is thin, or maybe use chicken tenders. I loved the sour cream on it.YUM!

Drip Beef Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2004
Wow!!! I loved this. It really was very easy to make, just takes alot of time to cook, so plan ahead. I used a 2 1/2 lb roast, so I cut the water, salt, bouillon, and garlic salt in half. But I put the suggested amount of other spices into and tea ball and it worked out great. I'm not a coffee drinker and didn't want to invest in coffee filters I won't use, so I picked up the tea ball on a chain and it was PERFECT for this and reusable. I thought the beef was perfectly spiced and very versatile. The black peppercorns gave it a wonderful flavor. Oh yeah, because the roast was not covered in water, I turned it over every couple of hours. YUM!!! Thanks for this recipe, Tammy!!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2004
Really good and I'm not really a fan of baked pasta dishes. I liked that the sauce and the pasta were seperated by the first cheese/sour cream layer. That made it a winner. Hubby liked it too and my two year old ate alot! A new addition to our menu. However, I definitely with half the recipe next time. That would make enought to eat and freeze some.

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2004
Yummy!!! I also used only 2 eggs and no baking powder. I added walnuts and I found that for me, the cook time was best at 40 minutes. BUT..I did bake it in a corningware dish, so that may have had alot to do with it because the brownies weren't spread as thin and the dish is thicker. But I just think you need to watch it the first time you make it and find out your perfect time.

Round Steak and Gravy II

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2004
I followed the recipe exactly and the sauce was good, but the meat was pretty dry. I think I might try it again with the crockpot.

Restaurant Style Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2004
This really is creamy and delicious. I used whole milk instead because that is all I had, and I just used as much as I needed to get the right consistency, and it worked out fine. My only advice is to make sure you use a good brand of processed cheese, it makes all the difference.

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2003
I thought this was a really great stew. I followed the advice of the others and added the potatoes and celery half way through, but I should have done the same with the onions because they were nowhere to be seen by the end. The carrots were perfect being put in from the beginning. Also added a few squirts of ketchup and some worcestershire sauce. Delish!

Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole

In a word: soggy. I even toasted the bread before hand and still had the soggy bottom blues. Cheese mayo mixture was weird and the whole recipe seemed to be missing something.

Chicken Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2003
Wow!! I love pot pie and this was amazing. I used 1 can cream of potato and 1/2 can of cream of chicken, next time I will put in the whole can. I cooked at 375 instead of 400 to accomodate other dishes in progress and it was perfect. I will make this again and again!!
