About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook using what the season offers and using local fresh whole foods when they become available. I enjoy food adventures- trying new foods, spices, techniques and recipes, as well as old family favorites.
My cooking tragedies
First time I cooked a Thanksgiving turkey for my husband (boyfriend back then). It was a pretty big bird in an old fashioned tiny gas oven. It looked terrific, the skin all browned and crispy but it was RAW inside. Ewww. It was a day of vegetarian plenty, needless to say.

Greek Lentil Soup (Fakes)
There is something so wholesome and satisfying to a good lentil soup. This one is DELICIOUS and I like a little drizzle of good Balsamic vinegar on it. Tangy and kind of sweet, it so complements the earthiness of the lentils. This freezes well also, for a quick dinner when you have no time to cook. Thanks Diana.

Hasty Chocolate Pudding
Quick and delicious for any chocoholic craving!! Love the velvety consistency. I used the recipe as it stands, but cooked it on the stovetop. (Just whisk in the vanilla after you remove from the heat.) Next time, I will add a pinch of salt for balance and maybe a pat of butter, just cuz. Mmmmm! I like the sliced banana idea too. Thanks!
